Superman II was supposed to have been in Houston... East Houston, Idaho that is. But when I first saw it as a kid I thought they meant my Houston and thought it was pretty cool, despite how backwater they made it look.

    Guess that doesn't count.

As for The Chase, I thought they used a stretch of 290?

Arlington Road, the urban scenes was in Pearland, a few scenes at U of H, and at the end, I could clearly see signs for Allen Parkway, including the Montrose Exit sign.

Hmm, I guess I'll try and watch Reba for some Houston references.

I saw this movie with Roy Scheider, Night Game, where he's a cop trying to catch a serial killer who murders women on Galveston beach every night that a particular pitcher for the Astros wins a game. Never saw how it ended though.

It was filmed partly in Houston and the rooms that Bridges teaches out of is U of H technology school annex. You can see him walking around the UC at University of Houston as well as when he is driving around he is memorial area.

and they used the Sam Houston tollway as the backdrop for virtually all of the chase scenes. there's a scene where you can see a sign noting the Westheimer exit.

thats pretty cool. some of those movies I havent seen. but anyways when filming a movie in a public high school do they do it over the summer? I would imagine the hassle it would be with real students there.

I was in Fort Worth visiting some family and this movie came on cable. I was pretty young and my cousins were trying to scare me like it was real. Didn't they trap all the bees in the dome?

I remember that, too - I was in some cinema in Houston when I watched it, and people in the cinema applauded when that happened. It was so odd :D.

(What was even stranger was that afterwards, when I left the cinema, I ran into a girl from Mexico City that I had met in Cambridge, UK, a year earlier...made me realize again that the world is small sometimes! :)).

Another Brother has a role in that movie.

Also, I just remembered that Mattress Mac appears in Reality Bites, I think (Donny Most had listed that movie).

    Cool thread.
