Wow, I really hate to hear this and I'm surprised at how it has effected me. I've been on Clutch a long time (since 97 I think) and while I didnt really know Popeye personally, he was definitely a classic fixture on the boards. I really feel like we have a brotherhood/family atmosphere here on Clutch and I hate we may have lost someone. I absolutely love this place and it would be a major loss if it ever went away. RIP Pops, we miss you.
Actually,it's Pop's-Eye,thus Popeye...I dont know who figured it out back when he changed the nickname, but it was a very clever way of keeping his identity. He will be missed indeed.
Maybe it's just me imagining things but I remember when he came back under the new name and his first post was very popeye like. Someone said his writing style and insights were very familiar, then someone broke the code. Anyways Popeye really brought an insider's (he didn't work for the Rockets but associated with a few folks I beleive, feel free to correct me on that) perspective to the Rockets, something that is very rare. He is missed. RIP.
