Since Yao's behind the back dribble and jam vs Portland, a few threads have been created on the best plays of Yao's career. I thought that some of the moves that were described in the threads were best seen on videos, so I'd like to share with you guys some of Yao's rookie year highlights. These clips are probably a rare find these days and there may be some highlights you haven't seen before.

Anyway, just keep in mind that the original clips were low quality and the compilations I've made are a bit dodgy (bad transition and no music to go with it). You can probably tell I'm not a video editing guru :p Maybe someone with video editing skills can do em up better. NO COMPLAINTS PLS!

Please re-up for other users, so everyone can appreciate the crappy job I've done.

    Enjoy. :D

WOW, it makes me recall plenty of memorable moment in Yao's rookie year. And it looks like yao was more aggressive in the past, performing lots of incredible teamwork with Steve. How come Yao did not become as aggressive as in the past? Is that due to the tactics of JVG? Also, I could find steve has more imagination to play basketball than Tmac, even though Tmac is more powerful.

    Anyway, thank you guys!:)

Who care about stupid ROY anyway, the media is so biased, you can't blame them because Yao had most of them eating crow and a guy kissing donkey's ass.

The weight training has caused him to lose a lot of the lateral quickness he had his rookie year.

Highlights tend to do that. If I remember correctly, there was plenty of b****ing in his rookie year too.

meh... Yao's fun factor has dropped. In his second year you can still put up all the high-lights about him schooling Shaq. This year.... er, except the behind the back, not much more.

Yao is a better player now, he produces more, the team wins more... But he's not a fun player like he was.....

I don't know about y'all but I miss Steve, Cat, Cato, Posey, Eddie Griffin, Glen Rice, Kenny Thomas..Juaquin Hawkins..

It seemed more fun..we're good now and we actually have shooters now..but it was still really fun back then.

But we definitely got a lot in the Tmac trade and I think for the better..I just wish we could get athletic young strong or skillful guys like Steve and Posey and Eddie and KT and Hawkins..youth..

Thanks vunny1408, great job with the videos!

Can somebody re-up video #1? Videos 2-8, I was able to download. Brings back great memories...bad-ass moves Yao displayed there! Cool passing, that's for sure! And the nasty facial over Ben Wallace and posterization of Tim Duncan, the no-look over the head pass to Cuttino was there as well, killer stuff! Much appreciated!

So if you watch the "lowlights" of his rookie year are you going to want the Yao of his second year or this year back?
