    Summer Song Giver...BLASPHEMY!!

As a certified Star Wars geek born in the year 1977, I must say that Star Wars is not only the best movie made during that year, but among the top five movies of all time

Of course, I don't think that moving pictures were around when SOME of the people on this BBS were born...

In a really tough decision I'd have to go with Ghostbusters from 1984.

    Gremlins
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Star Trek 3 : The Search for Spock
    Romancing the Stone
    Police Academy
Splash (ok, ok, maybe not that great)
    Footloose
    Places in the Heart
    The Killing Fields
    Passage to India
    The Natural
    A Soldier's Story
    Amadeus
    The Cotton Club

I was born in 1971, a year that gave us such films as:

    Dirty Harry
    Diamonds Are Forever
    A Clockwork Orange
    Duel
    Fiddler on the Roof
    The French Connection
    Get Carter
    Harold and Maude
    Johnny Got His Gun
    Klute
    The Last Picture Show
    McCabe & Mrs. Miller
    The Omega Man
    Play Misty For Me
    Shaft
    Sweet Sweetback's Badasssss Song
    Willard
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

And, of course, the Mission Impossible TV series debuted in 1971, as well.

If I had to pick one movie that I thought was the best out of this list of 1971 releases, I'd pick The French Connection, but there are certainly some other very good ones.

Casablanca came out in 1951 I believe, which makes grummett almost as old as I am.

For me, it would have to be Gone with the Wind.

If I was born in '84 I'd pick Indy and the ToD or The Natural.
