Y'all can call me a traitor if you want, but I don't care. I thought this was a decent idea. I've heard that Mark Cuban reads and responds to his emails, so I decided to send him this. I thought it was pretty clever. Hey Mark; Got an idea for you. I heard that you once dared a radio station broadcaster to change his name to "Dallas Maverick" for a million dollars. Apparently he refused. But it got me to thinking. I'm thinking, for a $10 million investment, I would change my name legally to "Dallas Maverick". And I'm a die-hard Houston Rocket fan. We have a strategy here in Houston where we can guarantee you 10% on your assets. For example, with annual compounding, a 5 year product would earn 61% during that term. Sooooo, I would have my name legally changed for a year (I'm too proud of my family's name to make it permanent) and you'd make 6 million guaranteed in five years. It would pay every fine you ever get from now on!!! We can present this to yourself, your attorney's or your C.P.A.'s. C'mon! It would be fun! And I'm not costing you any money to do it! Eh, I figured sending this can't hurt, right? Let me know, man! (And sorry about Sunday, but y'all didn't have Dirk or Finley in, plus you're already kicking our butts in the standings, so it's all good!) Jim So what do y'all think?
I absolutely, positively, without hesitance... would change my name to Dallas Mavericks for one year for $10 million. -- droxford
Dallas isn't a horrible first name...don't care much for anything Dallas but it could be worse for a name (San Antonio). EDIT: I like how you explain to him what 10% annually compounded would be in terms of total return.
gee Jim, I don't think posting your real name, address and phone number here is a great idea as for your idea, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me $10 M investment? in what? paying you to change your name? how does you changing your name earn Mark $6 M over 5 years?
This got me thinking... what would it take for you (any of you) to change your name legally to: Karla Jazz Malone for one year?
Including your name, address, place of business, telephone numbers, etc. in a BBS open to the public can only cause you trouble. I would delete those if I were you...
A guaranteed 12% per year (or whatever lower number that comes out to figuring compound interest) seems pretty nice. And I bet your commission on a 10m investment wouldn't be bad either.
ohhhhhhhhh I thought you posted this after a response from him. WOuld have made this more entertaining. Uprising feels let down.
