I have 2 Pixies albums but if I include them, then I would have to include Joy Division, Talking Heads, Television, the Velvet Underground, the Buzzcocks, etc.

NIN, one of my all-time favorites, is essentially a solo artist. You could make the argument that the Jimi Hendrix Experience was a band but most people think of Hendrix only.

To vote is to simply choose who you think is the better band when 2 of them are matched up against each other.

For example - The Beatles vs Incubus: Beatles would be my pick.

And if any band would be added, it would be The Police (just barely over Yes). As a matter of fact, we will have a 65th band since they do a play-in game.

Incubus will take on Live in the play-in game. Goo Goo Dolls move down to a 16th seed. The Police get a 14th seed.

Remember, I didn't come up with this idea or the seedings. I am only doing this because I was asked to and that the original poster felt no one would be interested in it if HE ran it. These 65 bands would not be the ones I would have if I did it my way, but I wanted to keep it as close as possible to his originals. BTW - he was unhappy with me for getting rid of Bachmann Turner Overdrive, but I told him if I am running this thing, then the mothertrucking Cure had to be in it!.:)

Do you think I give a rat's ass about what you think?:p ;)

Any time you are ready, Internet Tough Guy. :p ;)

BTW, I guess we need to go ahead and vote on this play-in game.

So, who do you think is the better band: Live or Incubus?

    I will go with Live.

Get your votes in for the play-in game by 8:00 CST tomorrow morning.

while neither band deserves to be included among the 64 best bands, I would say that Live without a doubt is better than Incubus

I mean, seriously, CHICAGO ? why not Air Supply then?

I guess you got to have some sacrificial lambs, but take it up with the mystery poster. Believe it or not, he had Chicago seeded like #4!!

Should our answers be who we like better or who we think is the better band?

    I'm sooo confused! (10Hands)

Doesn't really matter as I am sure many will vote for who they like better even if they admit that the competing band was the better technical band. You just vote who you think would win a "Battle of the Bands". Probably doesn't answer your question.:p

Ok - just for the stoopid...

do you JUST pick the first round winners and then wait for the 2nd round or do you fill out the "whole" bracket?

Just pick the first round winners as there may be some upsets. But wait to make your picks until tomorrow morning. Just pick on the matchup of Live vs Incubus.

    Wait a second.

You let Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers slide, but you won't consider Neil Young & Crazyhorse? Band of Gypsies (Jimi Hendrix)?

And any list that includes Lynard Skynard and The Eagles while blatantly leaving off the Allman Brothers ... WTF?

GNR vs Def Leppard in the 1st round? You're killing me 2 of my favorites and one is leaving early

I won't be voting in this tournament because of the rediculously high seeding of DMB.
