Suggesting that someone take drugs is not an objective opinion.

However, Jermaine was never going to develop fully with the Blazers. Heck...he was traded for old Dale Davis. If Jermaine had showed that much promise, Blazers would have kept him. I think the Rockets have a lot of pressure to win, and that puts pressure on Yao who doesn't exactly react well to it. The dude would probably be developing fast and scoring at least 20 points a game if he was with the Warriors or something. A garbage team without any pressure to win is the best place for a player to develop.

The question is: are your opinions really objective?

Agreed totally... but the thing is, Portland was very short-sighted, and they had a veteran team that was on the cusp of going to the NBA finals.

They got Dale Davis, who at the time was not that old... and got Scottie Pippen... and went to Game 7 of the WCF, and should have won against the Lakers. At the time, everybody said that trade was advantage Blazers.

Also, agreed... there is some pressure on the Rockets to win... but nobody is asking for a championship this year (when the real pressure starts). They merely need to make the playoffs... and more than half the teams in the NBA do that. That's not pressure.

As for being on a garbage team without any pressure to develop... guys like Jason Richardson, Corey Maggette, and Shareef Abdur Rahim (all good players... but have never been on a good team) might tell you otherwise.

You make good points... and I understand hindsight is 20/20... but Jermaine O'Neal was a nobody until he realized that he would have been a 6'11 waste of space if he didn't decide to start working hard.
