Correction. First and foremost, VOTE!!! The polls close at the same time that the broadcast begins, so after voting, go home and watch the Rox trounce the defending champs in THEIR house.
Regardless of who you support -- get out and vote. Because if you don't, some idiot will do it for you.
bump... (until Oct 4th) Sorry I work in a place where the most popular excuse for not doing something is "Nobody told me..."
This may be a stupid question, but what do I need to take with me to vote? I mailed in one of the voter applications last week. Do I just take my license to the polls, or do I have to have a voter registration card? Yeah, I'm 25 and I've never voted before. I figure now is a good time to start.
First off, good for you! People in other countries die for this right that so many here take for granted and don't exercise at all. Take your voter registration card for the least hassle, take your TDL otherwise. Note: They are not supposed to ask to see your Driver's License if you have your registration card! You don't have to be able to drive to vote.
For those that find voting on election day inconvenient (don't want to miss any of the game, for instance)... take advantage of Early Voting. Apparently it's open to all registered voters and runs for a couple of weeks before the election. I wonder what took so long to figure this out! I've long complained about how unnecessarily inconvenient it is to hold elections on a Tuesday.
harris county has had early voting for about a decade now...not sure about other counties in the state or around the country.
For those of you voting for Bush, we already have enough electoral votes and will not really be needing your vote. Thanks anyway. Back to work. Fear me. Love, Dick Cheney
