What's Matt Maloney doing these days? He's still on payroll, isn't he? And I'm pretty sure his 3's about as good as anyone on our squad.

boki is looking at some real PT now.

jj will play 36 MPG now, and tmac will average around 40. that is a solid 20 MPG for boki if he can keep it.

we won't use the TE, or trade an extra PF....we won't even sign a replacement. too much $$ was invested in sura to hire a replacement for the season. if he can come back around december or january and play, then CD and less will be more than happy to have a spot ready for him so they don't look like they made a mistake.

We could give up Teaspoon and a draft pick(next seasons draft considered one of the weakest in a while) if needed for Payton.

Both players contracts expire next season. He's already showed intrest in Htown and refuses to play in Beantown. It works for both teams and gives a deep backcourt when(IF) Sura gets back to fully.

The Rockets need to find a way to pry Gary Payton from Boston. He wants to come here, and he would be a great fill-in, even for just one year.

The Rockets need to go back in time and ask themselves why not Damon Jones and Wesley Person instead of Bob "Can't shoot even when healthy" Sura and Charlie "It's just a matter of time" Ward.

We're going to be in the playoffs with E-mail and Hawk on the roster.

    2003-04
    Statistics
    PPG 14.6
    RPG 4.20
    APG 5.5
    EFF + 16.34

If you could get numbers like this from your starting point wouldn't you take it? People dissed GP for declining last year but he was the only starter to play all games foe his team last year and put up these numbers. Play less minutes and take him out of the triangle offense and he would be a great vet. addition.

what was that little energetic shooting guards name who played well for us last year in preseason? Scates?
I think he was from UT and he had a hell of a preseason last year shooting the ball and he played a energetic pressure applying style of defense out on the perimeter. the Rockets need to invite that guy back o training camp again this year.

Most of Boki's minutes will come as a 3 i.e. SF.

When Boki comes in to sub out JJ, he willstay in there fort about 7-10 minutes in a stretch. JJ will then be the one temporarily subing in for TMAC.

Boki will sure get more minutes.

It is going to be very important for him to shine and do well because he will not have many more or better opportunities to establish himself even further.

Padgett played 3 most of time while he was in Utah. Good point and don't hit the panic button yet.

Gaines is not gong to get much playing time under JVG even with this injury. The playing time will be divided by JJ and Boki moving around positions during the game. Gaines will be lucky if he gets in the game just like Boki didn't get into games last year.

This is some pretty crappy news but i guess ones man's loss is another man's gain, this being Boki and Gaines.

Sura has had a history of injuries including back problems. Too bad ATL signed Jon Barry.

I have had a laminectomy, with removal of the L5-S1 disk. It herniated and part broke off, so the herniated section and the broken off piece tag-teamed and squeezed the siactic nerve. Not just back pain, but nerve loss and loss of stregnth in that leg. I have been able to avoid fusion so far, but thats the next step.

I wish I knew where the herniated disc was. The media reports aren't saying. If its' a Cervical repair the surgery is easier and he will recover faster. It it's lumbar it much more complicated and we might need to worry more.

Let the coaches figure this out, they still have 2 capable pg's and really nobody here knows what type of impact Sura would have on this team.....he wasn't here last year.

The Rockets still have 2 superstars and a nice set of core players, they are all NBA players and who knows, maybe one of the new guys will have a break out year....it happens every year somewhere.

Why worry about this now, there is plenty of time before the season starts for the Rockets staff to work this out. What we do know is that Sura is having surgery and is out indefinately, just take it from there and hope for the best. Sometimes diamonds are found in the rough, maybe the Rockets will find another one on their roster. I'm going to look at this as an opportunity for the team overcome a difficult situation and make the best out of it.

    Sura's hurt.....move on!!

Where's the Hawk these days? Or better yet, whatever happened to Rodrick Rhodes?

Aaaaah, so what. Sura's only good for the last 20 games of a season anyway.
