I've been pretty vocal about how bad this draft class and maybe it's Stockholm syndrome but looks like we really might get a solid talent at #3.

It's going to be Sarr #1 Risa #2 Shep #3. Slightly annoyed that Spurs are going to luck into Topic which is a crazy annoying fit with Wemby.. Could even go with Clingan then Dillingham... anyways our division is our going to be such a bloodbath the next 5-8 years.

Lastly, the French national team is going to be a problem for a while.

Sheppard will be there at 3 and is a gift. We don’t need to get cute and trying to trade down. We just need to take this guy.

he likely would not have been available at 9 or 10 so this is a gift. I am all about trading for a young star and trying to win sooner than later, but we can do that without trading the third pick.

    Sheppard is awesome!

A low IQ iso scorer who cannot function off-ball isn't really what we need. Plus he is a certified loser.

Sheppard makes everyone better. It might take two years, but this is a good investment.

I go back and re-read what I wrote and what you’re writing — and it’s basically a question of how loud the tools are. Or if he’s a scrub and just kind of mediocre across the board . Deni Avdija may be another comp - 4 years in, he’s putting up very solid numbers for an awful team.

If it wasn't for Wemby, I would pencil in Clingan to win a future DPOY award. This guy is a generational defensive center.

As it is found money, I want Reed.

A guy that can shoot 53% from 3 would be a MASSIVE guy to have here in Houston especially with his BBALL IQ and his ability to backup FVV at PG.

He would make us better and fill a hole of need.

So you think he's worth a number 3 pick plus another first round pick when we desperately need 3 PT shooters? Its not like he's Wemby.

We were 12th in the league in 3 PT attempts, but 23rd in our 3 PT%. All of the top 9 teams in 3PT% made it to the playoffs, and 6 of them moved on to the Conference Semi-finals. So far both teams making it to the Conference Finals are in the top 8 as well. In fact, both the teams in the Eastern Conference Finals will be top five 3PT% teams, whether it's NY or IND playing BOS.

His passing is okay, it complements his jump shot. His short wingspan and his 6'1" height bothers me. How well can he defend in the NBA is the real question for me?

Sheppard has better physical tools than FVV. And Fred is a pretty good defensive player.

We need elite shooter. We are shiit at shooting now.

Dude has great basketball IQ. His defense is also pretty good.

No telling really. He was great at steals and blocks. He has good anticipation instincts, He might be like that little pesky gnat that gets his hands in there driving guys crazy. All I know is we need 3 PT shooters. VanVleet was our only starter who averaged over 37% this year from behind the arc, and that's simply not good enough in this league. In fact, being 23rd in the league as a team in 3 PT shooting raises a big SOS flag to me.

Ok thanks. How many 3 point shots does Sheppard take a game? 52 percent even from the college 3 point line is very unusual.

And none of them shoot 37% or higher from the 3. We need better shooters other than VanVleet from behind the arc.

I would be happy with Reed but he could go #2. I think Ron Holland could be the pick.

He is not a Udoka kind of player if he cannot defend early on......we will have to see.

Udoka has benched Alpe and Bari if he needed to.

Also Amen and Cam are directly above Sheppard in the pecking order.

Don't underestimate Holiday's role, Holiday has been shooting at least 40% on Home Court.
