Maybe the hardware/software setup for the Centerpoint Outage Tracker couldn't handle the load because there is now a redirect to a web page that they update when they want.

    Outages Update

CenterPoint Energy is working to have restorations substantially complete to customers who are available to receive service by end of day Wednesday. Hardest hit areas of our territory include: Bellaire, Cypress, Baytown, Greenspoint, Humble and Spring Branch. As more details are available, CenterPoint will provide localized restoration updates.

Customers without power are encouraged to have an emergency plan in place, especially those customers who depend on electricity for life-sustaining equipment.

    Customers affected:

    447,603

Customers restored in the last 24 hours:

    246,935

    Active outages:

    5,172

Outages restored in the last 24 hours:

    975

Still no power in my part of Spring Branch. If by miracle it can come back before the weekend is over I will be ecstatic. Starting a new workweek when for 95% of people it will be business as usual while I'm still dealing with this crap is going to be difficult.

That's the the issue with this storm in particular, it hit a few select areas hard but most folks are back to normal by now. At least with Harvey and Ike when everybody got hit the world slowed down a bit until we got our bearings.

Agree. Work is going to be a drag because of this. Less compassion and understanding since others can't relate. Everyone I work with lives in the burbs. I'm inside the loop.

On the flip side. We have better access to stores, gas and contractors because it's not the entire city affected.

With a greater Houston metro population being 6.8 million....yeah it's a relatively small (approx. 5%) group of folks still affected.

Now is the time where you profit. Sex, money, pets, children, whatever your neighbors can offer.

They have now put up a map with projections for when the various parts of Metro Houston will have power restored.

The same link and then scroll down some to view the map.

    Outages Update

Tan/Peach/Flesh is the dominant color and that suggests Tuesday - Wednesday for restoration of power for most.

There are probably some population density differences between the areas that could narrow the numbers, but still many will have to wait for a few more days for power to be restored.

From what I have seen in my area (Heights, Timbergrove, Cottage Grove, Rice M), this map is not accurate, but maybe it means power could come and go.

I got power back last night but there were literally 28 (minimum) trucks working a 15 block radius around me for about 12hrs straight.

Went out to Montrose for dinner last night and it looks perfectly fine out there. Same street north of i10 is a warzone.

I live in Timbergrove and got extremely lucky with my power being back on yesterday afternoon.

Virtually everything else in the neighborhood is still out. I'm not sure how that worked out, but I'm happy about it.
