I am the one preaching keep the faith as long as we start better 15-30. I have more faith in Jake, Chas, Yuli, Pressly, Yainer, and Urquidy than all of you combined.
I backed him when everyone said bench him in 2022. I also had faith in Chris effing Johnson before any of you did.
Singleton had 2 singles tonight. The dude can hit. I think Espada should start him minimum 5 games a week at 1B or DH for the next 6-8 weeks and really see what he can do with consistent playing time. If his OPS is still sub .750 then figure out a replacement for the rest of the season. He needs to hit more home runs. I think he will. He draws walks too. 6-8 weeks.
Pressly has had some issues with the slider and fatigue. He and Espada met with Miller and came up with a plan to maximize Pressly where he is comfortable. Plus - they will never admit it but they want to see how they do with Pressly not there.
I disagree. His upside isn’t very high. With Chas coming back our outfield/DH is Alvarez Tucker Chas Myers Loperfido Dubon and they are all better offensively than Singleton. We are really gonna give him all the starter minutes ? I’d rather Dubon at 1B (is Loperfido ready ?) He should sit on the bench… he’s a nice player there but we really don’t need a weak hitting 1B. That’s a waste IMO
Only 4 games back of 1st is crazy. The braves are 26-15 and they are literally the same amount of games back of 1st in their division
He's got a good eye. I kinda think with more experience the power might come around. For now, I think he's the best option they have at first. I'd like something better, but he's not been too bad all things considered.
I was curious too, but I like it in general. Reduce back to back appearances this way which has really hurt this year.
He’s been getting steady playing time. His numbers aren’t great over the last 15 and bad over the last 7. Yes, he’s better than any other option we have right now, but you’re getting your hopes up if you’re expecting an OPS above .750 the rest of the way.
