Listening to Reggie, before that also his sister with the hamster cheeks stuffed with food I want to let the world know I am here Cheryl, broken voice Marv, bland ass Greg Anthony and before Steve Kerr, high pitched hamster SVG is not exactly what I call entertaining. Or hear Shaq say "stop it" a dozen times, 28 and 10 repeatedly or just stick to his dumb opinion. Barkley barely able to speak or Kenny feeling himself a bit too much. So no, it rarely enhanced the product for me. Only in recent years with Grant Hill and Ian Eagle they had something worth listening to. I liked Webber actually on ocassion.

they’re paying $2.5 Billion for less games than what TNT had. The NBA is on a decline in viewership but Universal/NBC needs to overpay to funnel ppl to sign up for Peacock because streaming is where the prized 18-34 demographic is shifting towards and not cable/terrestrial tv.

I've been getting 'jumped the shark' vibes from the TNT crew all season -- they still have great moments, but the show hasn't been the same this year. They had a good run.

all shaq does is yell at every big guy that they need to average 28/14, which himself having done that a whopping 0 times in his career. I liked the old show when it was just the main 3, but with shaq it's crap. Ian eagle = awesome, nobody was better at yelling "brought down by jj watt!!!!!!"

The games are pretty boring no one is doing anything different than the other team most games basically come down to who shoots the 3 better that night.

The ratings don't seem to make me think networks should be throwing billions per year at the league. Michigan-Ohio St college football basically tripled the ratings Knicks-Pacers got on ABC last weekend.

NHL ratings are up 15% they still are about half what the NBA does on TNT but are improving and the games have been pretty good so far in the playoffs.

I am an old school NBA fan and Adam Sliver destroyed the game a while ago to me. Minimum defense, physical contact, or even emotion or personality allowed in the game.

they are like bunch of skilled robots jacking up 3s in the game and a lot of games are over in 3 quarters. There is no fire in players anymore. Why not, those guys are paid 40-50 million and going to be paid 70-80M per, I bet they can’t wait to go to Cancun to spend that money

when leBron and Curry retire, the rating will be even worse. But NBC double the money for less game. Wow

Oh please, not this lazy narrative again. This did not start with Silver....this was already when Stern was around.

Yeah, I don't know why people ignore this. The league was dealing with Pistons/Spurs defensive juggernaut series and understood that the casual fan did not care for this kind of game, so changes started to be implemented a few seasons later to make the game more exciting and give the offensive player an advantage.

2.5b is a lot of money, even for some of the deep pockets company. Wasn't long ago when Bally and AT&T sportsnet couldn't pay their bills to the NBA on license fee and had to default. They couldn't get enough TV sponsors / ad revenue.

I get why NBC is doing it, but they have to think of it'd eventually be profitable. Also from NBA league's perspective, while aiming for highest bidder seems like the best idea, if the other company have problems paying down the line, sending in Lawyers and the collection agency is a lot of headache and possible disruptions to the fans and their product's reputation.

Personally I don't care which gets it. (NBC or Warners) , the issue is NBA over charging. Eventually that greed can cause issues on both sides.

That last part while true is what the NBA is forced to with the salaries going up, it needs to pay off for the owners and everyone involved not actually playing the game. At some point it will explode though.

IMO, WB would be incredibly foolish to match NBC, though I agree they probably will match. However, I read somewhere the NBA wants a 10% premium from WB on top of NBC's bid.

IMO, Inside the NBA is past its prime and starting to run on fumes. Now is a good time to kill it.

Stern caused the referring standards to fall alarmingly. He didn't care about that.

I just care to watch the games, don't care about after game shows or commentators. Just give me a freaking streaming platform for local games as well.

    NBA on TNT

Making fun of NBA Players Shaqtin A Fool Segments. Gone Fishin, it is literally a Clown Show. They are the reason true NBA Fans lost respect for the NBA. Barkley, Shaq always criticize and don't talk to players directly, instead of Media jabs.

The All Star Game TV Ratings collapse, showed Adam Silver, Fans don't support the NBA,No Defense, sitout games, zero competition. LeBron James, Giannis, Stephen Curry play Zero Defense.

Hopefully Adam Silver gets rid of ESPN, the TMZ of the League. Stephen A Smith (Hates White Euro Players Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic), Malika Andrews (Hate Black Men) are horrific people.
