Even If you give it to the second guy, then explain how these guys fare against Wemby's DPOY defense:

    Jokic: 34 10 8, 61%fg (4 games avg)
    Embiid: 70 18 5, 69%fg (1 game)
    Giannis: 44 14 7, 68%fg (1 game)

There should be a new Trophy established - Best Two Way Award.

    Joker would win every year.

The funny thing is Charles Barkley saying the defending champs will be swept after going down 0-2. How did he forget the second round of the 1995 playoffs with Kenny sitting right next to him?

It's not Gobert's fault, Jokic is just that good. How are you supposed to stop that man when he plays aggressive?

This tune is a banger regardless.

Sam Amick and Josh Robbins of The Athletic released their yearly anonymous NBA player poll following the 2023-24 season, and one of the most interesting categories is always who is considered the most overrated in the league.

This year, 13.6 percent of the 81 players who voted on that category said it was Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert, followed by Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (8.6 percent), Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (7.4 percent), Houston Rockets wing Dillon Brooks (4.9 percent)

Gobert gets no respect from the rest of the league

It's very difficult to quantify individual defense. The DPOY award is largely based on impression rather than some objective data. Gobert had been exposed in the playoffs when he was with Utah.

The thing is, Minnesota was widely regarded as stupid for giving up so much in the trade for Gobert. I thought they were stupid too. And they actually got worse after getting him, from 46 wins to 42 wins.

This year, they jumped to 56 wins. Not only that, they swept the Suns in the first round and won the first two games in Denver. I was thinking, hey maybe the Gobert trade wasn't that dumb. What do I know. Now, I think the reason they improved so much within two seasons was mostly Ant Edwards's development into a true superstar.
