So I'm learning that starting pitchers are just unpredictably and arbitrarily checked. I thought it was mandatory they get periodically checked. My friend is telling me he saw Steele for the Cubs pitch 5 innings, get pulled from the game and never got checked once. Seriously is that possible? Leave it up to MLB to be able to target certain teams for this.
The plan at this point is probably to leave Dubin as the last line of defense if the game goes to extras. I have to imagine Brown and Martinez are completely unavailable. Would be nice if we just put up some runs to keep it simple.
Assuming the suspension holds, they can option Kessinger to bring up a pitcher to get back to 13 pitchers on a 26 man roster, right? Henley and Speas pitched tonight in Sugar Land, so it would be either Coleman or Mushinski. If this game holds and they use Hader and Pressly after Abreu, they will be looking at Dubin, Coleman/Mushinski, Martinez, and Hader as the only available RP tomorrow. ETA: Abreu only threw 8 pitches so maybe he can go one more and they can use Hader for one inning and have both Pressly and Hader available tomorrow.
Hey, yo.. Where Hunter Brown & France's substance, are they trying to stay on the big club or nah? Spaghetti can have literal Ragu on his glove, got a division to catch up in
