It's true nobody will tell you this though.

Playoffs seems like it's virtually the same teams every other night

Regular season has 30 teams - an entire kaleidescope

Playoffs is the same team you played 3x last week

Regular season has fancy IST and city edition courts and uniforms.

Playoffs is same old same old every night

Regular season means you have a chance and half the teams are happy when the buzzer sounds

Playoffs is misery for all but one team that gets the luckiest

NBA regular season is better than postseason exhibition tournament.

don't let the sheep lead you astray or the wolf will consume you

IST is a gimmick....I would not be opposed to a R Season Trophy though why not....

    • The Playoffs itself is not a bad idea.....maybe less games like 3 Game Series.....Best of 3.

    • Or just morph the IST, Playoffs and Play In into 1 big tournament........with 1 Elimination Game.
Would also save on travelling cost if it was done in a bubble environment.

they don’t try in the regular season, so no

this same matchup would’ve been 126-118 in February if everyone even bothered to play in the game and not sit out for management

You can't make that general statement because not all playoffs are the same. Some years they are fantastic and others not so much.

I thought the IST was very cool and had a great debut but the NBA will have to put something legit on the line to keep it going.

Yeah, I've been saying this for a long time. A long regular season that only eliminates less than half of the teams makes a whole lot of RS games meaningless.

What I want to see is separating the season and the tournament (whenever it's played). Crown the RS champ as the "real champ." And play a one-game, or 3-game at most, tourney with all 30 teams to produce some kind of "cup" champ which is equally prestigious.

The playoffs are way more intense, rotations tighten up, players pay attention to scouting reports, and game to game adjustments are HUGE.

Playoffs are 10x more watchable than the regular season, unless your team isn't in them.

If you can't enjoy an intense playoff battle between the Cavs and Magic that's on you.

In tonight's action - an overmatched team missing a bunch of players lost to the same team it lost to in 4 of the last 5 games

That's just pathetic compared to the regular season. Who could actually like this. Abysmal.

Well, at least Luka brought Lob City back.......CP3 to Blake Griffin was at least something to behold.

remember folks, this is the most EXCITING part of the NBA basketball year- a couple of boring closeout sweep/gentleman sweep games and days of nothing.

And by nothing I mean literally - nothing.

When you get into game 6/7 territory the playoffs are fun, if the games are relatively close

Maybe they should just have BO3s in the playoffs. But the owners would never accept that because then their greedy asses get less $$$$$

Nope there are blowouts in the nba playoffs all the time now. Teams get down 10-15 points in the 2nd quarter and just pack it in

How about shortening the series and expanding the field to all 30 teams?

It's helps when the league has a team to hate. There really isn't one.
It helps when a legacy player is at his peak, there isn't one.
Of the top 10 players, none are interesting, except, ironically, Luka. But Luka needs a rival good guy. Tatum is not it. In fact, there's nobody in the East that is even modestly a rooting interest outside of Giannis.

But the vacuums don't usually last very long.
