Stay put and take Sheppard. Trade down if he is already taken.

    It's really simple

If Stone and our scouts think Sarr is "that guy", then yea you do that in a heartbeat. We don't need depth, we need a superstar that we haven't found with the other high picks

If you don't think he is that guy, then you draft Sheppard and hope he is a healthy Mark Price

I don't think we need to trade up #1. I'm fine with one of Sarr, Risacher, or Sheppard.

I dunno, would this year's number 1 even go in the top 5 of last year's draft? If no, then no way you trade up because you have to pay number 1 money for a number 7 type of player.

Nah, but I would trade Sengun to get No. 2 and take Clingan and Sheppard at 2 & 3:

    PG: VanVleet / Sheppard
    SG: Green / Whitmore
SF: Brooks / Thompson / Tate
    PF: Smith / Eason
    C: Clingan / Adams / Landale

As good as Sengun is, he can't anchor a defense, needs the ball, and is about to get very expensive. Clingan is a better fit in terms of the team and the cap.

Pistons might take Knecht at 5

Sarr has the most potential but has a big bust chance as well. He looks a lot like Wiseman predraft. Same range of outcomes as well. I don't see him as a far superior prospect to Sheppard or even Buzelis. Not worth the trouble.

No one's discussing it because it's a terrible idea

There isn't a clear cut #1 in this draft. Honestly, I'd rather trade down/combine for future picks.

I’m not a big Sarr fan. Not worth the assets to move up for him.

cam would have gone number 1 in this draft. Consider him as the high level prospect of this year. Take a high floor prospect in Sheppard at 3

You dont take Clingan at 2 and you certainly don’t trade Sengun for that.

You don't trade up if the draft is a crap shoot unless you have superior insider knowledge.

3 is probably a decent spot riskwise to take bpa and not look dumb a couple yrs later.

Always a chance another Sengun in the teens will do it anyways but at least you don't lose future picks or flexibility just for a bust

Because nobody is even close to Cooper Flagg, who's only 17. Next year's #1 lottery winner is going to strike gold.

You must be from Cali and want the rockets back in San Diego....

If you move AS, its for Jokic/healthy Embiid or Giannis caliber

Jokic is going nowhere, ever. Embiid gets hurt too much but anyways, not leaving Philly. Giannis is interesting because they are aging out rapidly…

Yeah but who is trading with you? The consensus among everyone seems to be that there is no real consensus - find it hard to believe someone would be so fixated on grabbing a guy at 3 that they couldn't stomach the options to pick in the 6-10 range. No one is trading up to get into the same tier of player they already have access to certainly at 6-8...and if you do find a trade partner, I would imagine there isn't a lot of trade asset coming with that move.

I agree, we shouldn't use any player, picks, or swaps to move up.
