This is probably as cheap as it'll ever be to move up from 3 to 1, why not make the move and guarantee that we get our #1 guy, who ever that may be? Would it take much more than a future Brooklyn first?

I honestly see the logic. This may be the last time we will have a really high pick for a while as I'm not convinced Brooklyn will be as bad as everyone hopes. Saar is also not a great fit in Atl. Would I give up a future Nets' pick to move from #3 to #1? I'd consider it. Would I give up more? No.

The question is, if you move up, who are you taking -- Saar or Risacher?

If there is a clear-cut #1 (Sarr?), the Spurs would have good ammunition to make the move (if they so desired) with the #4 and #8 picks.

As for the Rockets, I've wondered the same. Even in "weak" drafts, it's tough to move up. Teams don't like giving up those (a) potential All Stars (b) rookie pay-scale contracts.

Sarr looks like a nice nice player but I just don't see the point of adding him to our roster or how it moves the needle for us to compete unless we really don't like Sengun's potential.

Nobody really knows if Sarr is actually better than Buzelis, Reed is better than Rob, Rob is better than Clingan or Clingan is better than Risacher. Every single top 5 player could end up being a bust so why bother?

The Hawks have never picked 1st since like the 50s or 60s.......I would pick just for picking sake because it is History in the Making!

Marvin Williams was a 2nd Pick that they botched.

I like Sarr, but he's dependent on the 3 point shot improving to hitting the ceiling that everyone wants (i.e., I'd take the risk at No. 1, but wouldn't trade up to take that risk).

Why? What's there that won't be there at 3?

Sarr is still considered tiers below what a traditional #1 pick is. I actually think it’s probable that other prospects in the top 10 end up having better careers. And that’s why I wouldn’t move up. In a draft with very little consensus at the top, you could easily end up with the best player in the draft at #3. I’d rather trade out, trade back, or stay put than trade up.

yup, were not trading any of our brooklyn picks for sure. This pick is either traded down or for veteran help and a future pick in a better draft.

Sarr? Not saying he’s a sure thing, or even Rox like him. But I don’t think he drops to 3.

Sarr is pretty solid, I agree with your sentiment.

Sarr does not need to have the best career, if he is solid then at least the Number 1 is not a joke.

In 6/10 of these mock drafts, you could trade back to #6 and still get Sheppard. I think I’d take my chances rather than spending assets to trade up. We could trade with Portland for #7 and #14 and still get Sheppard in 40% of the scenarios.

I wouldn't trade down, but I also wouldn't trade up.

Just take Sheppard at no. 3.

My only worry is that one of the top 2 teams gets smart and takes Sheppard.

In that case, I would probably trade down and take Knecht or Castle.

Sheppard is who I prefer in this draft, so I like the idea of just sitting tight and taking him at #3. If he goes ahead of that, there’s a good chance that another team’s top rated player gets pushed to #3 and the Rockets might get some decent offers, at which point it might make sense to listen.
