6’1.75 is closer to 6’2. He’s 6’3 in the league. And you know it doesn’t make sense, you’re moving goalposts because you’ve been hilariously wrong on Reed. 42” very means he has the ability to play above the rim, with anyone in the league.
Sheppard is a non-factor in big games. He dropped 3 points in the first round of the NCAA tournament, resulting in Kentucky's monumental upset by a bunch of nobodies at Oakland.
How am I moving goal posts? Cp3 has a 40 inch vert how much has he played above the rim for his career? My concern has always been on his 6'1 height and 6'3 wingspan having 42 vert doesnt change that.
No, he didn't. CP3's max vert was 38 inches.....and he was 5'11....so significantly shorter and less athletic than Sheppard.
He can shoot but he’s not a traditional SG given his size. There have been PGs who can shoot. But at this point positions mean almost nothing in the NBA. Particularly when you’re talking about a distinction between guards.
Atlanta needs a center to pair with Trae and the Wizards need a star. Neither are going to look at Reed in any serious way.
Is Reed known for playing above the rim in NCAA? If his vert allows him to play above the rim why didn't he do it in college?
With CP3's standing reach and max vert, it means at absolute best, he can get the ball 10 feet 9 inches above the ground....yeah, you aren't going to be dunking much like that. With Steph Curry's standing reach and max vertical, he can get the ball 10 feet 9 inches above the ground.....no dunks for him either. I am heartbroken that I have to tell these 2 guards that they can't possibly make it in the NBA due to lack of dunks.
If we are being fair, his “NBA height” is 6’3”. 90% of these players add an inch and a half or so to their barefoot measure.
So you are saying vert is useless for these players cuz of how short they are? Then why are you acting like his vert means anything for Reed?
Kyrie Irving was measured at 6'1.75" height and a 6'4" wingspan. He seems to be able to finish in the paint okay.
Sheppard also really looks extremely quick when he drives with the ball. Not a giant bag of moves yet, but he is a speedy guy. keep in mind that his hands are also very quick on defense. And you can probably let him shoot from one to 2 feet behind the three-point line and be A top shooter in the league. Im taking Sheppard at 3. He makes everyone better. This is the exact player we need with Amen and Sengun. Even for Cam and Jayln he will provide spacing.
Because you’re the one implying height is the be-all-end-all metric after your “his unathletic” narrative fell apart. Honestly just say you don’t like him because he is white and move on brother.
I expect him to keep up his insanely good defensive prowess and play bigger than his 6’2 height. Blocks are a big part of that for him. He can get his shot off against anyone, that’s all that matters offensively.
