If he is 6'1 you need to take off 4 inches of his vert just so he is 6'5. Risacher is 6'9 he's like if RS was jumping 8 inches off the ground 24/7. The taller you are the less higher you need to jump and vice versa. RS having a 42 inch vert is cool and all but he needs all of it if he wants to do anything in the paint.
That likely changes after today with the new injury. Also, with this draft, as of now, there's no "consensus" really among the top several picks. Another factor is that Sheppard is kind of killing it at the combine. In earlier mocks, I highly doubt anyone thought Sheppard would have a 42 inch vertical....pretty much destroying the narrative that he's got athleticism problems. It's still early, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sheppard went before the Rockets had a chance to draft him.
Stop it. That makes zero sense. He’s 6’2 with a 42” vert. Plenty of lift and makes sense why he plays bigger than his height
For the record, Steph Curry had a max vertical of 35.5.....Russell Westbrook had a max vertical of 36.5.....CP3 had a max vertical of 38......Gerald Green had a max vertical of 39....Mike Conley (who some compare Sheppard to) had a max vertical of 40.5 Sheppard putting up a 42 probably has the top 2 teams taking a hard look at him.
Reed Sheppard is the closest thing to Steph Curry since Steph Curry. I hope the top 2 don't take him.
How does that not make any sense??? If you are taller you are better than the dude who is smaller with a higher Jump because that shorter dude has to always be jumping to match your height. He is also isn't 6'2 he is 6'1.
Well, yeah, he was 5'11 with only a 38 inch max vert....being both shorter and less athletic than Sheppard.
