    Does Reed have handles?

Can he create his own shot?

Shepherd Reed must have sandbagged his standing reach number to get that 42" vertical number. His standing reach of 7'9.5" is really bad. His agent must've told him to sandbag the standing reach to get a massive vert number to dispel the notion that he's not athletic.

Reed measures a wingspan that's 0.25 less than Curry's, but 3.5" less standing reach.

He's still athletic for sure, but I don't think he's got Steve Francis vertical.

I don't think so. He can make tough shots off catches but if you press him he gets rid of the ball. He does amazing things as an off ball player.

I don't disagree with you. I'm high on Sheppard.

Washington is almost definitely taking a primary on-ball guy, a wing swing, or a C because they have none on the roster.

For example I like Sheppard better than Dillingham, but Dillingham is good too and I think Washington takes him over Sheppard 10 times out of 10. They'd give Rob the ball next season and let him cook.

If we had no core 6, were just starting our rebuild, and were planning to tank the next 2 years anyway I'd probably take Rob or Topic over Sheppard too.

The standing reach is tiny because he's actually a really short guy with a giant head and long neck. His 6'2 is fraudulent. I don't doubt the hops because he can dunk even at that height.

“I mean sure he’s got great defensive stats, elite shooting stats, can jump really high but he’s 6’1 3/4 instead of 6’2 and really kind of white. I’m not sure any of it will translate to NBA level. I think we should draft someone who’s really tall and can run fast and maybe … jump really high.”

What a shocker, a guy who doesn’t need to try posterize someone on every play to be effective is rated worse than athletes without actual basketball skills.

Looks like a slow release to me, he doesn't look very tall, and it's not like he is moving a lot which isn't exactly a super realistic scenario too.

    Lets say he sandbagged it...

Whats the most he could take off? Like 2 - 3 inches? If that...

He'd still have a crazy vert for someone who is being touted as athletic. Not sure sandbagging the reach like that would be worth it.

I don't think we're set at center. If you are watching the playoffs, obviously you see we need size along the frontline against the West. Plus, Adams is coming off an injury and Landale is a backup. We need an athletic player in the frontcourt.

Also, I think the Rockets want to give Amen a true shot at PG. At PG, he can become generational, due to his size and IF he can get his shot fixed. At SF or PF, he's just a good player. Since the Rockets see him as their best player, I think they're going to want to put him in his most effective position.

With Reed, there is a tweener in every draft, if you can't get one this yr, there will be one next yr..

Tweener means between positions. What positions do you think he’s between? He’s a ridiculously good shooter…and I learned today he’s a way better athlete than I thought he was. Looks like an amazing shooter with hops better than anyone else so far. Given who else is available in this draft, I think I’d draft him and at the very least I have a shooter on a team that can’t ****ing shoot if their lives depended on it.

That would be the correct move. When you have a 3 pick you have to swing big and not safe.

You keep saying tweener. Positions are less important than ever. Amen can bring the ball up great. Reed can being the ball up. Great. Amen can’t shoot a lick. Fine. Make plays. Reed can bring the ball up and shoot.

This is legitimately the worst draft since 2013 and may wind up being the worst draft of the 21st Century tbh. I'd rather trade the pick for a proven player personally, but IF we're standing pat, Sheppard to me is the easy pick. Arguably the best shooter in the draft, one of the best defenders in the draft, and just a high IQ player who knows and understands the game of basketball. He could also step right into FVV's shoes once he leaves in a year or two.

Yes. But theres levels. Is he kyrie or steph or AI with his handles? No.

But i do think he will be able to create offense for himself and others.
