Yeah, I've thought about that and it could completely backfire. In a draft with so few consensus top picks, you have no idea where anyone is gonna get selected. Just take the guy you want at #3.

Castle is listed as 6'6" on some draft sites.

Yep yep yep. Knew it. So the only way they're taking a guy like Reed Sheppard is if they think he's legit the BPA. I feel like the Rockets' boards tend to hew pretty close to the consensus, and Reed's consensus spot is more like #5. That's not a huge reach but I just really, strongly suspect that we have Risacher at very least above him on our board.

Edit: Damn, Sheppard is small. I thought he might come out at 6'2" or above with more of a plus wingspan given his stock numbers. He is really really small. It makes me concerned not just about how his defense might translate but also about getting his shot off against bigger, longer, faster NBA defenders.

It's been said plenty, but this is a really, really bad draft at the top, at least it looks like it.

History shows at least one or 2 will break out and be star NBA players, but it's hard for me to look at any of the prospects and see anything other than strong supporting players. I want Sheppard, but his likely outcome seems quite a bit lower than one would want from a top 5 pick.

If Witus is for the pick so will I. He only picks winners.

I think Sarr, Dillinger, and Topic have the highest upside. So if its bpa whichever is left.

In a vaccum Topic has the most attractive package, but the idea of adding yet another inconsistent shooter on the perimeter makes me shudder.

I’m shocked about Castles height, at the lottery he looked like he was TOWERING over Shep and Dillingham. Must have been the shoes lol

Yeah, in a flat draft like this one where there's no specially outstanding guy, the meaning of BPA is greatly diminished. I usually advocate the BPA philosophy. But this time since there's no clear BPA, you might as well draft for needs or trade it for your needs.

What we have abundant are wings and big bodies who can't shoot from outside. The biggest need is PG and shooter. Sheppard and Dillingham are the top prospects in this regard. I like Sheppard more because he is slightly bigger and shoots slightly better and looks like a better defender.

Low motor? Inconsistent? Pretty sure Sheppard won't be able to score if you put either Risacher or CW on him.

FVV is an aberration/Outlier, how many 5'11 guys end up as All stars? He's not good for comparison same as Steph Curry/Cp3/Irving etc. For every one of those guys you have 1000 midgets who are just NBA fodder.

I like Shephard as a prospect but as the 3rd pick I don't want a role player at that range. Yes CW might fall to OKC and then everyone's gonna see a repeat of JDub robbery.

God damn Sheppard and Dillingham are short. Reports they were both 6-3ish.
