Not a "star" yet? I'm still high on Bari and think he's going to be solid for a long time, but the idea of having a longer, athletic DEFENSIVE big paired with Sengun... I would consider trading Bari and a future 1st for the rights to draft Alex Sarr. That might be crazy but,
Sarr might not even go in the top 4 though. I mean, he probably will, but it's not guaranteed. He is very raw--he will be a project for whoever gets him. Possibly the greatest upside in this class, but he might well end up in the G-League if we get him since we have Adams and Jock.
Mine would still be John Butler. Would could use a 7 foot defender off the bench. Also getting the old Harden/Paul combo off the bench on vet minimums thing. That would make us scary.
Trying to put Sarr next to Sengun would present a worse problem than what they have now. We need defense at the center position. Not at PF. Now trading Sengun and a future 1st for the rights to Sarr would the better move and immediately makes the defense better.
There is a fine line and I guess we should not cross it....... We had Center issues when Alperen went down but stocking up on Centers with Landale, Boban and Adams is also not the greatest concept. We do not want to go to the other Extreme either.....
I like what I see. The kid is legit. He can do everything. Competition level is nowhere near NBA but still...
low budget role players Jose Alvarado, Jaylin Williams (Arkansas) Core replacement Taylor Hendricks & Anthony Black Draft Reed Sheppard, Tylor Kolek (late round sleeper)
I thought about the same thing. I like Jabari, but he avoids contact. I don't think it will be enough to get it done though, despite the weaknesses in this draft. Saar might be able to fit in with Sengun, but it will take time. Saar brings rim protection with his shot blocking, his jumper isn't bad. I don't think it's a crazy idea.
Sengun is locked in at the 5 for years to come. Having a long, athletic, defensive minded big that plays on both ends next to him at the 4 would be smart. Again I'm still high on Bari. Think as he gets stronger his defense will improve, but Sarr is on a different level athletically. And he's 7'1 with a 7'4 wingspan. Seems like a perfect fit in Ime's system.
Sengun for Sarr would be a horrible trade, absolutely godawful. Nobody in this draft class is worth trading Sengun for. There is no Wemby here. There's not even anybody as good as Amen--he would have been taken #1 if he were in this class. Sarr is an all right prospect, but again, he is raw as hell. You'd literally be trading Alpi for a G-Leaguer to start off. People really need to grasp how poor the top of this class is. This draft is not that bad in terms of depth, but there are no obvious impact talents here. Picking at the top of the lottery feels like a really tough spot for a GM to be in because you could very easily end up with the "wrong guy" and have a star emerge a pick or three later who was in the mix for #1.
I believe the Hawks aren't going to move him at all. It would probably cost the Rockets an arm and a leg to get him.
But trading Sengun for the 1st pick this draft and a 1st from next years draft would be a great move.
