I don’t doubt that the trials help Trump politically with a certain segment of the population but as I’ve said all along this is about the rule of law.

what we see though from Trump defenders though is that politics should Trump (pun intended) the law.

 

Not a backfire. The criminal trial is about criminality and holding a person accountable for their crimes. It isn't motivated nor should it be by political poll numbers. They are two seperate areas.
