All depends on if they land the right players. Man… what a depressing season. I think Astros have sold me on them sucking for the rest of the year. This could be a 82-82 team… if we are lucky.
Aside from ol' red ass JV who in that clubhouse will blow a gasket? Certainly not the skipper. Yea I know that's not how this works but everyone seems just a little too comfy with this **** show.......
If they don't get their s**t together they are looking at a lot more losses than 82. I think you meant 81-81 team. A couple of weeks ago I was of the opinion that it was just a short term funk Astros were in and that by the end of the year they would have a decent shot at the playoffs. Now I am not so sure anymore.
His velo has been fine, he's hitting 96 on the reg but he was missing with the curve (walks) and slider (hanging it) and FB (high) and it killed him....that short porch in right is a huge advantage, for that matter the entire park, talk about a bandbox. Swing and miss needs to come back but I still have hope for JV....
"As long as those broad-casters sit & talk about the weather, ...as long as us posters sit and talk about the team. Oh Astros, I'm gonna love you forever, no matter what the record, forever & ever...." everybody loves some Randy
There’s just no joy watching this team play anymore. Offesne playing like deer in a headlight all year, minus Mexico City. Pitching is pitching. Not much left to say about our pitching. There’s no fighting, no pulse within the team. It’s ok to throw in the white flag this season but this is when the FO has to earned their money. Make some right (or lucky) trades and we could be back competing again next year. But let’s start with letting Espada go. Baby step!!
Yeah, he might be ok…that was me kinda venting about Abreu. Spoiler “He got too strong” … Are we being ****ing serious? If Verlander falls off, we wouldn’t send him to Florida and ask him what’s wrong. We’d say he’s 41, wear and tear, nearing the end. Abreu falls off and he got too strong? Not that he’s washed? Not that he’s 37? Be ****ing for real. He’s most likely cooked and don’t want to pay him to go away. Imagine… “What’s wrong with 38-year old Yuli Gurriel? It’s his eyes! Use both eyes! It’s his strength! It’s his footwork! It’s this! It’s that!” “What’s wrong with 41-year old Verlander? It’s his windup! It’s his release! It’s his landing!” “What’s wrong with 40-year old Greinke? It’s his windup! It’s his release! It’s his landing!” Well no. He’s a declining 38-year old who no longer has it. This is not “What the **** is wrong with Alex Bregman?” Or “What the **** is wrong with Josh Hader?” Or “What the **** is wrong with Yordan Alvarez?” Or “What the **** is wrong with Bryan Abreu?”
At least Jose Abreu fell off the cliff when he was 35. Salsa boy is only 30 years and should still be in his prime.
