Not an unexpected act from a war cabinet, during a war, but nevertheless, it's against press freedom and Western ideals. N.K, Russia, China, and the likes... https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rel...ng-to-ban-and-block-al-jazeera-302136222.html Following is a statement from Emily Wilkins, president of the National Press Club, and Gil Klein, president of the National Press Club Journalism Institute, on the Sunday decision by the Israeli cabinet to immediately ban Al Jazeera's operations in Israel, seize the international news outlet's local equipment, and block its websites. "The decision by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government to shut down Al Jazeera operations in Israel is the wrong one. It is wrong for the people of Israel, for the people of Gaza, for people in the West Bank, and for the rest of the international news network's millions of viewers around the region and world who rely on Al Jazeera's reporting of the nearly seven-month Israel-Hamas war. We fully support Al Jazeera's decision to fight this in court. As a democracy, the people of Israel depend upon the free flow of information, particularly right now when the decisions their government is making are so enormously impactful for the future of their country's relationships in the Middle East and with the broader international community. Most chilling about this decision is what it will mean for Al Jazeera journalists and crews working and living in Gaza. They are not mentioned in the government decision. By branding Al Jazeera as a national security threat, we are deeply concerned that the Israeli government may view them as legitimate military target. They are not." Don’t you fret, Israel will punish Rafah AND the West Bank just to make sure you don’t feel shortchanged.
Ending hamas is just an excuse to kill more innocent palestines. Might as well wipe palestine off the map and deal with the international aftermath/condemnation afterwards
Then it's already a failure. This only creates more animosity and threats. Collective punishment is already a war crime. It's a turd in so many ways.
It sounds like it’s a good plan but I have very little confidence this will be accepted by both parties and even if it does whether it will be fully abided.
this is the plan that Hamas has accepted I was surprised about P3… didn’t think it was part of any deal yet.
What a suprise....most Israelis aren't war mongering donkeys like @tallanvor @AroundTheWorld and actually want the hostages back at all cost
IDF had intel about the exact location and time of the attack and refused to respond properly. I love how you keep glancing over this while bootlicking Bibi. October 7 should never have happened
Nope. Also didn't displace most of the population from their homes, and institute different laws, regulations and resource allotment based on ethnicity either. Not comparable at all. Of course the treaty of Versailles did create resentment and was an ultimate failure in providing future security.
