I have 0 doubt that the protests groups have been funded internally and externally. I am taking offense to the notion that these are pro Hamas rallies and that they’re the work of Democrats and George Soros.

The BDS movement is not pro-Hamas. It’s anti-Israel. Protestors do not want to see their universities “perpetuating” the oppression of the Palestinians. But there are just as if not more vocal voices on those campuses who want to the universities to double down on the ties to Israel.

Frankly, universities should be encouraged to engage in research with international collaborators including Israeli ones. Academia should be above the violence and hatred.
The universities of Israel are not bombing innocent civilians, and the universities of the US should only be interfacing with the US military through DARPA. All the US universities by all means should not do research with the IDF or any other foreign military power. But I don’t think they are.

The US and the USSR and now Russia still maintain peaceful research in space despite being seconds away from open conflict of cataclysmic proportions.
A university can say we do not support genocide and absolutely do work with a peer Israeli school n

No and it’s deceitful to say they are. The people in the rallies may be sympathetic and even defensive of Hamas because they want to “see Israel get what’s coming to it”, but the purpose of the rallies is to “bring awareness” of the Palestinians plight for the last 80 years in light of the Gaza bombardment for the last 6 months. Like you yourself have posted it’s an oppressor-oppressed framework of the conflict. The undertones are leftist, not Islamist.

When anti-Iranian regime protestors sympathize or defend the MEK it’s not because they’re proMEK it’s because they hate the ayatollahs.

Islamists support Hamas. But there are so few Islamists in the US at college that I bet each one is known to the FBI.

They are pro Hamas rallies. See above. They include a lot of useful idiots, absolute morons who just want to virtue signal and could not find Israel on a map. But they are pro Hamas rallies.

Neither one of us has stepped foot into one of the protests. But I have seen an “encampment” up close and it was not a pro-Hamas affair.
It was Pro-Palestine/Anti-Israel. It was ceasefire now, not cheering Hamas on. It was divest in Israel, not fund Hamas.

Again, I think it’s bogus that people are being antisemitic while being anti-Israel. These people should be mindful of their Jewish colleagues even if they’re proudly Zionists.

You realize that leftists and Islamists have been collaborating for many decades.

The left-wing terror organization "RAF" in Germany that murdered many people in the 70s and 80s, including the father of one of my best friends, got trained in PLO terror camps.

"ceasefire now" means Hamas gets to replenish its terror weapons and will murder more Israelis. There are no ifs and buts about this.

The Red Hand symbol is being used to say that by supporting Israel they too will have the blood of the conflict on their hands.

The hand symbol the celebrities were wearing was orange.

“The Artists4Ceasefire enamel pin is composed of a red background to symbolize the urgency of the call to save lives. The orange hand conveys the beautiful community of people from all backgrounds that have come together in support of centering our shared humanity. The heart being cradled in the center of the hand is an invitation for us to lead with our hearts, always, to lead with love. When we lead with love, we understand that all of our fellow beings deserve to be loved and protected.”

Yes. And as soon as they can they will turn on each other.

But PLO is not Islamist, it’s leftist.

Leftists, Fascists, and Islamists are all similar in that they cannot come into power without violence and want to see an overthrow of the liberal world order. But they won’t stay allies after the revolution.
