MLB can grow its fanbase by 1) ending weekday day playoff games, 2) fix its blackout rules, 3) be consistent on where to watch games.
So I was wondering if Singleton was leading the majors in poor defensive performance this year. Anyone seen Blaze Alexander play defense? He's listed as a DH/SS. His defensive stats are kind of what one would expect from a DH playing SS. I'm tempted to binge watch some of Blaze's defensive plays out of curiosity. Okay, I searched for his errors as those are easy to find... https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=b4a39b9f-bd53-48dd-99c0-1fa29611bcb2 https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=8f06499a-ff96-4b08-920a-5c119efb4298 https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=1ef52887-6e9f-48da-ad08-fa1109edd790 The errors only cover about a third of his poor defensive value by stats and I could only find video for 3 of his 4 errors.
Astros starting pitcher expected wOBA top performers this season as of May 9: Blanco .254 Javier .299 Arrighetti .305 Verlander .312 Valdez .335 Arrighetti is a strange bird: lot of stats that are either great or terrible, Stuff+ hates his guts...but he's gotten the job done more or less.
hopefully Junior Valentine or Angel Hernandez ... the 2 dudes who couldnt be more biased that determine outcomes of games, moneylines, players' stats, ballclubs' W/L & playoff chances... yeah, I hope if that weren't either of them, then the best has yet to come.
Skenes has a filthy "something ball" that he throws to LHB, about 95 breaks down and in. If he can stay healthy, he's totally legit. Fun to watch.
They pulled Skenes in the fifth with two on and no outs. Reliever comes in and strikes out Bellinger and Morel. Hits the next batter on the first pitch to load the bases and then throws 12 straight balls to walk in three runs. Baseball is a funny sport. Second reliever just walked in another run, four straight walks with the bases juiced lol and we thought our bullpen was bad.
