Politics? Lol. I will give you that neither deserve to start, but since one needs to, how do you come up with politics as the reason Brown is the choice?
Moving Bregman down is a start. I truly think 2nd is his best spot but not now while he is bad. 6th would be better. I like Tucker 2nd, especially now while Alvarez and Bregman are struggling. Kyle is just not getting pitches to hit - he's on pace for 115 BB- and unlike Bregman where a BB is a great outcome, Kyle walking feels like a lost opportunity. Hopefully pitchers won't pitch around him w/ Yordan behind him.
Looks like he moved Bregman in front of a hot hitter (Pena) and I guess he didn't want Tucker hitting 5th. Or he wants Tucker getting more AB's. More than likely both. I don't have a problem with Tucker hitting 2nd honestly.
Tucker is the most prototypical #2 hitter on the roster. I would flip Diaz and Bregman but otherwise I like this lineup.
It seems like two to three times every year people complain about Pop Up Bregman just before Breggy Bomb Bregman returns. It is almost like there is a fine line less than a mm thick on the baseball difference between a pop up and a homer and Breggy popping it up a lot means he's just slightly off.
he needs to try to hit the top of the ball. Lots of hitters do that. Maybe he already is trying doing that lol.
I guess it’s somehow better when your cleanup hitter pops up with bases loaded rather than your #2 guy.
Man. Espada. I mean, at least he moved him back some, but cleanup? I don't understand how this man views the game sometimes.
No worries, I finally benched Breggy on my fantasy team. Message sent! This should get him going. You’re welcome.
Hunter has better stuff and better upside. If that’s “politics”, so be it…also, the original post says all “politics” needs to move to the D&D, lol.
https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/astros/article/houston-astros-kyle-tucker-no-2-lineup-mariners-19438522.php Espada said he preferred a “different look” against a right-handed heavy Seattle pitching staff. The Astros will see three right-handed starters in the series — George Kirby, Logan Gilbert and Bryce Miller — and the Mariners carry six right-handers in their eight-man bullpen. “I just felt like getting (Tucker) up there, some at-bats behind (Jose) Altuve, who’s been on base a lot, can make a difference in this series,” Espada said. Tucker slotted ahead of Yordan Alvarez and Bregman on Friday. Both Alvarez and Bregman are slumping. Alvarez was hitting .161 with three extra-base hits, all home runs, over his last 15 games entering Friday. He was hitless in his last 16 at-bats with runners in scoring position. Bregman awoke Friday with a .200 average and .543 OPS. The third baseman hit his first home run of the season Friday against the Guardians but then went hitless in his final 11 at-bats of the series. Espada moved Bregman up to the second spot in Chicago hoping to “get him going.” Bregman was 6-for-31 in seven games there and returned to the cleanup spot Friday. Espada said he didn’t consider moving Bregman down further in the order. “That’s a good spot for Breggy,” Espada said. “Breggy is a really good hitters and I know that he’s close. … We’ve seen some good at-bats. He’s just missing, he’s not being on time. But I know at some point he’ll get hot and he’ll be the Alex Bregman that we typically see.”
