I'm in the "depends on the price tag" camp. Jimmy Butler is very much an Udoka vet. He is exactly the kind of guy who can help you take this culture we're building a step further. He's an absolute dog. That said, he's old and in decline. If he came on a reasonable deal to finish his career in the Houston area then that would be awesome. If he expects a long term max deal....

He's also the type of guy you can go to, to get a bucket when you're going through a dry spell.

Yeah that's what this team needs...

A dude who shows up when he feels like it.

I echo the price tag sentiment, but his contract is 45-50+ million in the next couple of years which won't work for us.

I like Jimmy, a two-way player, and I think he'd be great for us for a first playoff birth, we could actually upset higher seeds with him as he's a wildcard.

He'll only play 50-60+ games a year, but if the price is right we can rest him with our depth. But I don't think this is likely at all and just leverage from the media perhaps.

Home grown stars are our best course of action with this young team right now.

This is the exact kind of stupid move I fear this team might make.

This is just ridiculous. Dude's 35 for crying out loud..East Coast media grasping at straws, helping with leverage. It's absurd.

I really hate these types of posts. Gives 0 context and uses vague terminology.

No. No way. Did anyone notice how all the teams with older max dollar players are out of the playoffs ( or will be as soon as the Clippers are done). Jimmy Butler 2 year @ 25/year should be the max anyone offers Butler

Let’s stay away from the really really old guys until we are ready to make a title run.

The Rockets Brass have to call out the National Media Journalist. They Create a Fake Rumor every year with the Rockets.

Rachel Nichols doesn't watch the Rockets and starts rumors. Rockets don't need Alperen Sengun Lie.

I do know Rockets need huge depth on the Roster. Especially the Top Western Conference Teams have Starter Quality Players coming off the Bench.

Guys, before we shoot this down we have to consider that with players like Amen, Brooks, Tate, and Tari on the team, Jimmy Butler fills our biggest hole on the roster as a defensive minded SF with a shaky three point shot.

I don't think it's too late. He is the right kind of player for this growing team. If we were legitimately in our contending window I would agree with the" hard pass" takes, but we aren't.

We don't want this dude when he's washed up. We wanted him 5 years ago but then he dissed Houston constantly and won't even rep the city. F*** him.
