Only speaking for myself, I got superhero fatigue years ago (post Endgame) and even if they put out quality content or somehow bring the old band back together, I just don’t really care anymore.
Yeah, they better bring in other characters because a superhero without superpowers is only cosplaying... ...fine, Batman, DD, Punisher and others are still pretty cool. It just doesn't work for this version of Captain America.
I wasn't a fan of the first Captain America but the 2nd one was a nice surprise that was entertaining enough. I mean they brought in a hulk so hopefully they know what people are wanting
You forgot Black Widow and Hawkeye as normie peak humans with a crazy amount of training and experience. Sam also has wings, an indestructible shield, an autonomous combat drone and probably some other fun Starktech stuff in this movie. He’s not exactly Joe Walmart. OG Cap’s super soldier serum isn’t what made him great. It was his ironclad morality. He was just a pure good guy. He never stopped fighting for what he believed in. That's true and something compelling about him which Sam doesn't have, despite his gadgets...plus he actually had superpowers too, at least Spiderman level. Sam is just not a cool superhero.
Captain America can lift/press a ton. Also has peak human reflexes and speed. He’s essentially a human on adrenaline with the body composition to endure the punishment. Spider-Man can lift/press five tons, has super human agility and speed. No comparison, super-power wise. Spidey is on another level. Cosmic- Silver Surfer, Thanos Super Duper Super- Hulk, Thor, Iron Man with the right power source Next level super - Spidey, Regular Iron Man Basic super/Enhanced Human - Cap, Wolverine, Kingpin Peak Human- Sam Wilson, Black Widow, Hawkeye Regular bro with enhancements - Vulture, Doc Ock, Punisher Couch potato- average Clutchfans poster
All of those things are what made Falcon an Avenger... but you can't really be Captain America if you aren't a super soldier. You can be a Black Widow or Hawkeye without being a super soldier because those are "peak human" characters, however Captain America is a super soldier and a person who isn't one would just be cosplaying as Captain America. I know Sam cosplayed as Captain America for a time during the comics, and it sold so poorly that they ditched it entirely and went back to Steve Rodgers within a year. Bucky would have been the better pick.
Reminds me of those comic cards I used to collect as a kid. At least I beat Aunt May on the power rankings!
