It's crazy how good store brands are now. They used really not be as good as the name brand. I buy groceries at Wal-Mart, I'm all over the Great Value.

My dad fed me some wings from member's mark. They were the best frozen wings ever.

We were talking about how frozen wings are all fatty and tasteless. The Sam's are restaurant quality

I’ll give store brand a chance first but for some items I believe name brand is higher quality or has a proprietary ingredient or process that’s just different. For example, I always buy name brand sodas.

The dollar store is also a good spot to pick up cheap snacks. There’s a line called Brim’s. I would love to do a taste test against the name competitors.

I did, I don't know what you want me to see but my search said the products are made by the same producers of name brands which I knew

Clover valley sriracha tastes just like the old Huy Fong -- it's the only one I've had that's even close.

    The question is"
    Did their quality rise
    or
did the name brand's quality went down?

Kroger brands >>>>> HEB brands. Fight me.

I will say that this is my all time favorite diet soda. So much better and cheaper than 7Up.

Actually, the first question should probably be “who makes the store brand?” In a lot of cases, they’re made by a national brand. They sometimes give it away when there are food recalls where both brands of a product are recalled at the same time for some reason. It’s also why a Kroger brand product may taste like an Aldi product - they’re probably made by the same company. For example, I remember reading once that whoever makes Blue Bunny ice cream also makes ice cream for WalMart’s Great Value brand.

Not all store brands are created equal. Some are very good, like Kroger and HEB.

Except for Almond Breeze Unsweetened Original almond milk. Not even close.

HEB's ground turkey is also inferior to Kroger's.

For the record, HEB is my #1 and my family teases me about my loyalty.

I like V8 juice, but it's loaded with salt. V8's low-sodium juice tastes terrible.

So I tried every store brand of low-sodium V8-like veggie juice (HEB, Kroger, Great Value) and....

believe it or not, Great Value's low-sodium V8-like juice tastes the best, by far. I drink it every day with breakfast. Would recommend.

Store brand did not get better. Everything else got worse. You have companies chasing margin and private equity ruining everything to thank for it. GOOD LUCK

Grill some chicken (cut it into chunks), saute some diced onion and garlic, open a can of artichoke hearts, open a jar of HEB pesto (either the green, traditional; or the red, sun dried tomato). Diced black olives work, if you like them.

boil some spiral pasta, mix and enjoy

It's just as good cold as it is warm.

Kirkland Brand checking in. All day at costco. I have to buy in bulk to offset the higher prices since Covid.
