You have likely gotten through the worst of the withdrawals already and the rest of the symptoms will subside over the next few weeks if not sooner. It starts to get easier after that peak.

When I reached two weeks I started forgetting I was even quitting and one day I happened to think about it and noticed it had been a month. That was about 20 years ago.

    Buck,
It's easier to quit in New York where I live. It's 15.50 a pack

I bought my first pack of smokes in the summer of '84 at a Texaco station (which is no longer there) at the corner of 45 and Spring Cypress for 99 cents. Smoked regularly for the next 15 years or so. I never decided to quit, I just started gradually smoking less and less. I "quit" for good probably around 2002 or 2003 although I'd have one every now and again when out drinking. I'm pretty sure my last cigarette was on St. Patrick's Day 6 years ago.

I only smoked in college when I drank.
Dipping was the hard thing for me. So many athletes dipped it was hard to quit.
Went to the tea leaf/herbal stuff and then quit completely about 5 years ago

Favoritism because of College is a two edged sword. There are always more wishing you to under-perform than to wish you the best. But elite colleges usually have their choice of the elite incoming talent so it's a pretty good indicator of raw talent, whether the fit was right or not.

I tried to transition to dipping, but the girl I lived with at the time hated it so it only lasted about 4 months. Went right back to smoking.

I'm so old that used to be the selling price for 10 cartons. I was never a smoker, but sold many while in high school working at a grocery store. It used to be common to send your kids into the store for beer and cigarettes. Times have certainly changed.

It’s a Jones fracture. Much less severe

    I have gone cold turkey.
My wife is quitting with assistance from the NY state smokers Quit association. Free patches and Nicorette for 90 days.
tonight, will be my test. I like my Nue or Tito's on a night like draft night tonight. It's supposed to get in the high 60s so we will be on the patio with the projector TV and a fire. The pavlovian part is it lends itself to smoking cigs.

Hold on to your hats my wife and I are both quitting 2X 15.50 per day as a couple= 31 bucks daily x30 days in a month= 930.00 a month x 12 months a year that's $11,160 yearly. I told my wife if we both quit for a year I will upgrade her from her 2019 Lexus SUV to a New Mercedes SUV.

Anyway, back to the Texans draft.
    Sorry for the derail.

It took me 20 years to get used to starting the year with 20--. The only thing that changed were adding a 0 in front of my DL#, changing my area code from 713 to 409, starting my telephone number with 88 instead of TU and changing my last digit of my zip code from 0 to 2.

Oh yeah, and complaining about the price of coffee going up to a dime.
