Feels like this exact idea has been discussed for years now.

 

I think eliminating the corner 3 could be a good idea. NBA players are just too good at shooting.

 

On the bench.

 

Eliminate the three point line all together. Eliminate palming while you're at it. Eliminate long shorts. Eliminate color TV.

For real, though, implement some FIBA rules. No defensive three-second violations so teams could play true zone defenses.

Everytime he posts he turns his hand under the ball to freeze his defender, then dribbles again....

 

What I would like: A cap of 18-20 3-pointers per game. After you reach the cap it counts as 2.

That would force teams to have varied offenses and make the game richer. You only can get 54-60 pts per game from behind the 3PT line, so you need to have other ways to score as well. It will eliminate the mindless chuck-a-thons, but still keep the premium for more moderate use.

Another wrinkle is strategy. Do you blow your budget in the first 3 qtrs and then have no 3 pointers left in case you need one at the end of the game? Or what if you blow your budget and then the D just packs the interior? Interesting gamanships will develop...

 

Use robots to officiate the game.

They review and still get it wrong
They call calls based on results
"he hit the shot so it's no foul . . .. . "
"He missed so I guess I'll call the foul . . "
Their Human I get it . . .but be consistent

Honestly . . . The NBA is feeling the heat for being TOO OFFENSE FRIENDLY
and Honestly. .. these playoffs are definitely 90s basketball
I have seem more grabbing/slapping/mugging that I have seen in a while
People call it defense but alot of it is just plain hacking

Agree with others on refs being a bigger problem. People like watching stuff that doesn't feel like it's being manipulated. I would just bring back hand checking and eliminate the "offensive player creates contact and gets the whistle" calls.

Was wondering how many more penalties would exist in European Football if the NBA ran it.

Watching two players going side by side . .. the offensive player dips in and throws up some crap
and its a foul
Watching two plays with the exact amount of nudging. . . .on one a the player flops and gets the call
which encourages more flops. . .. . . I'm tired of seeing player acting like they got shot

Either the Hand is a part of the ball or it isn't
hands clapping at the top of a shot is a foul? Slapping someone's hand during a dribble is a foul?
Follow Through on an attempted block isn't a foul if the ball already gone?

You practically can be an OLineman setting screens . . . .they all move
When someone fights through a screen . . . its 50/50 who will get the call if a call is called
