I'm not sure we know this is true. It might be he wanted those two over Nelson at the price, at the time. But clearly Nelson thought he was going to get a bigger contract offer than he did since he still remains unsigned. I just wonder if there his asking price comes down now that most of the rest of the good CBs are signed, if the team might just get interested. But I do think it much more likely they try for a CB they like in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft and never call up Nelson's agent at all.
Massive overpay. Nico is going to demand this much if he plays well this upcoming season. Texans should draft a stash WR.
St. Brown is probably the 2nd or 3rd best young receiver in the game right now. Up there with Chase but not JJ
My prediction now is Nico won't be extended this year or next (or maybe ever) and it's quite possible the Texans draft a receiver in the 2nd or 3rd round.
It is still an overpay, but WRs are getting it so can't fault them. Nico is as good as gone after this year...I hope the Texans have a plan for his replacement if they don't want to pay him that much.
Yeah I agree. It’s kinda crazy because young rookies are doing great at WR now which would usually devalue the position. But no way I would want to pay a WR 30 mil a year
I might go ahead and draft best available WR with one of those 2nd rd picks.. still coveting that dumbass Sweat for the first 2nd rounder tho..
