Not trying to give anyone hope buts its only April and the Astros are only a few games back. If they can just find that switch they have a chance

It's insane because it's probably not true.

Texans are improved, but they got obliterated in the round before the round that would even get them to the Superbowl. Then they have to win the Superbowl round after they advance. The team they lost to was beaten by a dynasty.

Astros are the dynasty and are still mostly prime. They will get healthier and are only 5 games back with 140 games to go. The first base situation will improve soon enough (it can't get worse) whether it's juggling current guys on the roster or prospects/FAs/trade.

Maybe both teams win it all. I'll take that.

Man I’m hoping you’re right! Each game is like a punch in the gut. It’s one step forward, three steps back

If you play him, (Jabreu) You're giving the opposition 3-4 free outs, which says you don't want to win.

Doubtful. Absolutely no one had the Rangers winning the World Series last year after they blew the division the final week of the season. And they damn sure didn’t have the Diamondbacks winning the NL. Things can turn quickly in baseball and just getting into the postseason truly gives you a chance at winning it all.

Meanwhile, the NFL featured the Chiefs and 49ers…how shocking. Go back about 10 years and the SB has pretty much been the Mahomes/Brady invitational.

Man just grab Belt, why not. Might at least help with his veteran presence and post season experience. Give us a break from the other two - then restructure the line up and lets start to crawl out of this hole. First things first lets get back to .500
DFA JS - Put Abreu on the IL and Platoon first with Dubon, Diaz and Caratini. Or go sign Belt for crying out loud

They should go get both because both are platoon players now and you can move Loperfido back to CF. Then in the offseason when you get the Bregman money back along with a few others that are FA's that you shouldn't be signing, you have the money needed for Alonso.

This is the right move. I still think Singleton could break out. His hard hit % is pretty good and his exit velo is there, both on par with Altuve so far this season. His bb and k rates are fine for a slugger. His issue has been launch angle and barrel %. If he can figure out how to lift and barrel a few more balls then it would have a big impact on his production. Giving him “everyday” pa thru May makes sense to see if that can happen. If not then I’m early June they can can cut him loose and give somebody in AAA a shot or make a trade. Either way I bet Abreu is going to be a wasted roster spot for the rest of the season and they’ll release him next offseason if they can’t include him in a salary dump at this years deadline.

This is NOT the damn solution geez. When did this franchise get so damn complacent?? If you're not going to grab Brandon Belt or take a shot on Loperfido, then at least get a little damn creative with Caratini and Diaz toggling in at 1B.

Very odd. Cooper was hitting well. High k rate offset by high babip. Seems like somebody could use him. If Houston could send the Cubs a couple 2nd tier prospects and Abreu for Cooper (with the Cubs just releasing Abreu) that’d be cool.

    Astros get:
    1B Garrett Cooper

    Cubs get:
    1B Jose Abreu
    OF Kenedy Corona
    RHP Misael Tamarez
    RHP Jose Fleury
    $13M (2024)
    $4M (2025)

What a bunch of ****ing losers.

Singleton is a known quantity and he sucks.

Go sign Garrett Cooper who was released by the Cubs - or sign Brandon Belt or call up Joey Loperfido.

Running the same ****, but new bull isn't going to accomplish anything.

If this is their idea of addressing problems - then they deserve to suck.

Seriously - fat out of shape players with iron gloves and slow bats are so 1950.
