You should read about Islamism. It’s a relatively modern philosophy. It preeches violence and it’s antithetical to our liberal values (well some of our shared values, as I am not convinced everyone in this thread would not be happier under a right wing autocrat who punishes the woke, transgender, and Muslims than they are living under Biden or any other western leader). Giving tens of billions to Israel is not going to solve Islamism. Economic prosperity of the lower and middle class may, but any culture that is tied to an Abrahamic religion is inherently going to be supremacist and violent. Secularism is the only solution for a multicultural society.

The Islamic Arab empire spread by the sword through the battered Byzantine and Persian empires following the death of their prophet and the unification of Arabia. This is how most empires in history have formed. How do you think America manifested its destiny? Through thoughtful pieces in the New Yorker? Islam was and is a form of Arab imperialism. But the Arab empire fell when the Mongols conquered the world and sacked Baghdad. And since then the Turks of Central Asia have run the show until the Turkish empires collapsed during the 19th and 20th centuries. The balance of power shifted to Europe and Russia when those nations could field bigger populations and had better militaries. The rest is modern history. Muslims have been forcibly converting non Abrahmic people since the start. Or they taxed the Christians and Jews until they decided it made more sense to be Muslim than pay extra taxes. And Christians did the same thing to their pagan neighbors once they stopped being persecuted and became the faith of the Roman Empire. Then all the pagans became fair game. Jewish people say they are God’s chosen people and their bible is filled with stories of them committing violence against their enemies with God’s backing. This is not to say other non-Abrahamic religions are better, they’re all capable of being weaponized, even traditionally pacifist Buddhism.
Pointing fingers at everyone else to deflect. Islam is by far the most violent and intolerant "religion". Death for apostasy. Its founder was a pedophile warlord.
Re-read mine where I responded to your question why the world should support Israel. The free world is under attack by Islamists. And Israel is the only outpost of the free world in a part of the world that has been converted by force. It is a thorn in the side of the violent Islamists. They hate all the freedoms people enjoy in Israel. Unfortunately, the forces of evil have gullible allies in the free world, the woke Left. Nowhere is this as obvious as with the group of people calling themselves "queers for Palestine". These people are uneducated, dumb, ridiculous. Ultimately, anyone in the West who is against Israel doesn't understand that they are undermining the fight for freedom and supporting the forces of evil.
Israel is certainly strong enough to defend itself and even conquer the entirety of the Levant and Mesopotamia. It doesn’t need $26 billion dollars of additional aid. It’s not losing.
Only those who want Islamism to win are against support for Israel. Or extreme isolationists on the Right.
Israel is not a scrappy start up country. It’s a battle tested war machine. It doesn’t need our help. We don’t bend over backwards to help any other nation that can handle its own business. Israel is a nuclear power, not a Taiwan.
That's actually precisely what it is. It is startup nation. And why is that so? Because the Islamic countries around it never stop attacking it. Trying to spread Islam by the sword and kill Jews, like they have always done.
The debt is indeed a massive problem. If you are wise, you unfortunately need to prepare for an inflationary shock like in the 1970s.
