Is that what happened? I saw the triple and sac.... then looked up 3 minutes later and saw 2 on. If the defense failed, extra credit to his performance. He still needs rest IMO.

Dubon misplayed a ball that Meyers would have caught. Then he compounded the error by over running it and Abrams got a triple. Altuve threw a ball that hit Abreu in the glove on a bounce, as he was throwing off balance from behind 2B, and Abreu dropped it. They gave the National player a hit. An average defense gets a 1-2-3 inning.
BIG DOGS GOTTA EAT WOOF WOOF WOOF BIG DOGS GOTTA EAT WOOF WOOF WOOF BIG DOGS GOTTA EAT WOOF WOOF WOOF
Don’t think anyone else has mentioned this, but aside from putting Meyers in CF for defense, he should have moved Dubon to 2B. He makes that throw on the fly if he’s playing 2B that Altuve bounced.
Catching the triple would've taken an above average effort. Dubon was shaded to left field. The catch prob couldn't have been over 20%. Meyers probably makes the play though. Playing Abreu is playing to lose.... offensively and defense.
Dubon is a perfectly fine middle IF (great defense, not as good a hitter as Altuve). He had a nice hot streak defensively in CF last year with a lot of tough plays in front of him (this season, it seems like his luck has turned as all he gets are easy plays or plays that involve top end speed and/or going back). His bats been okay for a while now with the occasional hot streak. It just torments me that the Astros have a zero on the IF and Meyers is sitting so a good IF defender can make tough catches look impossible. Dubun has to be a better defensive 1B than Abreu and even if not, his bat makes him a better 1B.
