I get the idea that owners would never agree to collusion is appealing, but on one level, these dudes are all about their money. If being mediocre makes them more money, fine. They didn't make their billions worrying about public perception. Ask Donald Sterling if he cares how he went out after selling the Clippers for billions. On another level, these dudes are illuminati and their goals are a lot bigger than an NBA Championship or two.

 

They should have instead banned his brother Kevin for life.

The smaller franchises make money from the larger franchises under revenue sharing agreements, so if the larger franchises think they’ll do better from a certain team drafting a player, that’s what will happen.
