Raptors Jontay Porter BANNED FOR LIFE FROM NBA for gambling violations

Discussion in 'NBA Dish' started by Mr. Dominant, Apr 17, 2024.

?

Should he have been given a second chance and not banned for life?

  1. Yes, NBA should instead have suspended him for # of games. A lifetime ban was not necessary.

  2. No, he deserves to be banned from the NBA.

This is a joke, but don't be surprised if it happens.

Also, the rising tide raises all boats thing.

I get the idea that owners would never agree to collusion is appealing, but on one level, these dudes are all about their money. If being mediocre makes them more money, fine. They didn't make their billions worrying about public perception. Ask Donald Sterling if he cares how he went out after selling the Clippers for billions. On another level, these dudes are illuminati and their goals are a lot bigger than an NBA Championship or two.

They should have instead banned his brother Kevin for life.

The smaller franchises make money from the larger franchises under revenue sharing agreements, so if the larger franchises think they’ll do better from a certain team drafting a player, that’s what will happen.

I mean, you’d have to be illiterate, or a complete dumbass to not realize this.

you’d also have to be a dumbass to think the NBA loses integrity with fans when players bet, but not when officials bet, but hey.

Officials should be given the same scrutiny as players. Absolutely

    Is Michael the good brother?

"Coban Porter sentenced to 6 years in prison for deadly DUI crash same week his brother Jontay banned from NBA...

Coban Porter, the younger brother of Denver Nuggets standout Michael Porter Jr., was sentenced to six years in prison Friday for killing a woman in a drunk-driving crash, according to the Denver Post."

Officials have more influence on the game's outcomes than a scrub player like Jontay Porter.

So you think these franchises would rather have trickle economy money from big team when they can make big money from having the franchise player themselves? Do you think New Orleans would rather Zion get drafted by the Lakers when they can get Zion themselves and benefit from increased exposure, merchandise sales, ticket sales and playoff runs?

I mean you have to be illiterate, or a complete dumbass to think like this. We have seen what Jordan has done for the Bulls and LeBron has done for the Cavaliers. No amount of trickle down money can equal what the star players made for them lol you gotta be ignorant AF to even think that, but hey. When San Antonio gives Wemby to the Knicks so SAS can make more money, you let me know.

People like you who keep claiming the NBA is corrupt still watch the games. If players are the ones who are known to throw games I highly doubt majority of people will still watch the NBA. I certainly won't I don't watch WWE for a reason.

Talking about Tim Donaghy? Nothing happened to Scott Foster who was on record having hundreds of calls to Donagny immediately before and after games he officiated. NBA and FBI made the Donaghy the scape goat. "This guy is the outlier, nothing to see here!"
