Last week I was down in Texas with some friends from Minnesota and Colorado and took them to Whataburger. They weren't impressed and insisted that Culvers was better. One thing they didn't like was the mustard on the burgers. They also remarked that it seemed like a a lot of the burgers they got in Texas had mustard which one of the guys from Minnesota really didn't like.

I myself like mustard on burgers, brats and hotdogs. I prefer it to any other condiment on those foods and personally can't stand ketchup on brats or hotdogs. That doesn't seem to be the case here in Minnesota. I've noticed many Minnesotans will eat burgers and brats dry with no condiments.

Whataburger Patty Melt is better than Culver’s. But after that I prefer Culver’s over any of the other burgers at Whataburger.

You are correct about Mustard and also about ketchup on brats and dogs. MN. Is wrong in this case.

Whataburger is tough to call these days. I feel it has taken a downturn over the fast few years. I'll always love it, in part, because of nostalgia. But just going on taste, there are better options. If I'm in Austin, I'll choose P. Terry's.

im so texan i dip my fries in mustard.

next time take those hosers out for elotes! ive eaten some very questionable street food in mexico, but i refuse to f*** with elotes...if you are unaware, its roasted corn and mayonaise and those street carts selling it smell like pasadena.

culvers is good though and compared to other burger places very fairly priced. their root beer is my all-time favorite!

Speaking of mustard. I recently made the switch to honey mustard. Now I eat that stuff every day. Good on everything.

I order fried cheese curds and a milk shake, at Culver’s. Hard pass on their burgers.

Texas food is a million times better then Minnesota food.

We're doing it right. They aren't.

If they don't like it, too bad.

Butter as a condiment on a hamburger is weird. It brings nothing but extra fattiness. Most burgers have enough of that from the bovine components.

Mustard > butter on a hamburger.

Did you tell them that mustard was a default condiment on Whataburgers and they could request it made however they want it? It’s not Whataburger, Germany in 1941.

Why would somebody eat a burger with a condiment they don’t like on it?

I had Whataburger last week in Dallas and still thought the burger was good. The fries didn’t seem as good as I remember.

It was there first time at Whataburger and they’ve been hearing me talk about the place for years.

What I should’ve done is take them there after bar close for the taquitos

I was in Madison Wi last year and went to Culvers and tried the cheese curds and man were they good, there different up there than the one I normally go to in Kingwood. I prefer mustard on my burger but occasionally I like to switch it up and use miracle whip if I am home. I do think Whataburger has declined but I still go, part of it is the nostalgia. One thing I am kind of over is Shipley`s, maybe it's the one close to me has gone downhill but I won't go out of my way to eat there anymore, and I used to a TON.

I’ve never had Culver’s cheese curds even though I live in the upper Midwest. I actually don’t like cheese curds and will only have them once a year at the State Fair or some other festival.

As such I’ll take Whataburger taquitos any day over Culver’s cheese curds and a Whataburger with jalapeños over a butter burger.
