FWIW Adolf Hitler and Gunter D'Alquen both said that the NAZI party was not Left or Right, but that it was all about Nationalism. It is true that the word "socialist" is in the party name - and Hitler and NAZI leadership did this on purpose to appeal to the masses in Germany after WWI, including many blue collar former German soldiers. However, Hitler defined socialist different than the term has been used in the past. He famously on several occasions said that socialism is a very loose term, that means "food in the belly". Further, the strongest targets of outrage by the NAZI party and Hitler were socialists and communists. The signers of the Armistace and the Treaty of Versailles were socialists, and he also purged others that supported socialism in his own party. Hitler was a nationalist and a fascist - he gladly called himself a native nationalist and also stated that Germany needed to be ruled by a single figure.

Hitler in Mein Kampf said that he had hatred for the duel beast of Judaism and Communism - because they both relied on the deceit and the weakness of the man's will. He didn't support free markets - at least not in the sense that was seen in the West. He believed that the leader of Germany should control the means of production - and claimed it was controlled by the people, because the Father represented the people.
