I would throw out the notion that HR-wise, they are more attention grabbing since they raise a bigger stink about idealistic causes tech companies virtue signal to everyone else (...because all tech companies worth joining are in it "to save the world"). Like if there are logistical or operational headaches such as insurance coverage for trans treatment or surgery that raises premiums for everyone or bathroom-like issues, everyone else will perceive it as "more drama" or an inconvenience. When left unresolved, it makes leadership look like hypocrites, uncaring, or promise breakers so the noisy ones are generally threatened with silence. Most other "common" drama, like a sexual harasser, a boss who embezzled money, nepotism from above, or plain ol inappropriate drunk encounters during mandatory happy hours are usually swept up or kept on the down low. Could be something you should casually ask your hr team for more data beyond anecdotes. I'd be interested in their response as well.
