seth martinez pitched one hulluva game.

reminds me of the guardians game last year. however, he didn't deserver the L last year. i'm glad offense got him the win for this one.

The problem is this offense needs more than an innings eater. It's 10 runs or 2 runs. Any word on pressure on hitting coaches?

The Astros have the 2nd best OPS in the American League. The problem has been inconsistency and sequencing (2nd most home runs in the majors, but most were solo shots) ... not hitting.

And inconsistency and hitting tend to balance out over time. The offense is and will be fine. The SP is and will be fine. The BP has not been fine - that and poor luck have been the problems. But if Framber isn't injured, the BP will get better as starters return and Hader rounds into form.

Assuming no major injuries (including Framber), they are still going to win the AL West and 90+ games

Yordan is on a personal best pace in runs and RBIs despite the #9 hitters clearing the bases a lot with homers.

I saw the numbers from Henley and assumed we got blown out. Nice surprise!

While the organization celebrates a split and can ignore the issues for another day, Henley and his 135 ERA head back to the minors perhaps to never return again.

Henley may have a good MLB career but maybe not with the Astros who threw him into the fire when he clearly was not ready. There was a viral tweet yesterday about how hard it is to get to the majors - hoping for Henley he didn’t blow it.

Nice comeback to even the series. We cant let Southern OK get too far out front this early.
Signs of life from our club indeed!

Need to start getting something from 1B.

On the Henly thing, it seems like they just plucked whoever was rested from Sugar Land. I feel like when you run into these emergency what the hell short notice spot start situations, you open it up to all levels and pick a guy that has the most electric "stuff" and let him have his dream shot. Think Luis Garcia getting his first start after only being in A ball and never looking back.

I realize some of this is logistics, other players may have been too far geographically when they got word Framber couldn't play...but what they did yesterday just seemed a little....lazy.

Seth Martinez somehow has a 9K% and a 4.3 xFIP so far this season. Didn't know that was mathematically possible in today's game.

They did the same thing last year with Dubin. Only so much you can do when the SP gets scratched the day of and you're hoping it's just a single missed appearance for the SP in question.

If you have a pitcher in AA or A ball with electric stuff you don't want to have to put him on the 40 man roster and start his clock and use his options. It was one game. This is exactly when you use Henley because you don't care about starting his clock or using his options since he likely won't be in the system much longer anyway. Had Arrighetti been on full rest maybe he would have been give the shot but literally nobody else on the AAA team was on full rest.
