According to Punchbowl News, "Two-thirds of Republican K Street leaders (66%) doubt Trump's mental acuity and physical fitness to serve as president, our latest survey of downtowners found. Meanwhile, Democratic K Street leaders seem more confident in Biden's physical and mental capacity to serve. More than half of Democratic respondents (54%) said they are unconcerned about Biden's cognitive and overall health."

This comes amid ongoing debate in the media and among political observers about the unprecedented age of the presidential contenders for 2024: President Joe Biden is 81, while Trump is 77; either would become the oldest person ever elected president.

I think I know where Trump got his "bloodbath" BS from.

I just saw a commercial for a "South Park" episode and, in the episode, a reporter doing the news was standing in front of a riot in progress with punches being thrown. He then says, "It's going to be a f-ing bloodbath, Tom!". They've been airing this commercial for a while now on Comedy Central.

F-ing Trump and his bloodbath. Industry term my ass. It's f-ing "South Park". He saw it and decided "hey...I can use that!".

Trump angers Ruby Garcia’s family members, who dispute he spoke to them

The sister of Ruby Garcia, a woman murdered last month in Michigan, said she was shocked to hear former President Trump claim that he spoke with her family when referencing her sister’s killing in remarks about immigration.

“He did not speak with any of us, so it was kind of shocking seeing that he had said that he had spoke with us, and misinforming people on live TV,” Mavi Garcia, the sister of Ruby, told WOOD-TV in Michigan Tuesday.

Speaking from Grand Rapids, Mich., Tuesday, Trump brought up the killing of Garcia, whom he described as a “beautiful young woman [who] was savagely murdered by an illegal alien criminal,” and vowed justice for her killer.

“Now, Ruby’s loved ones and community are left grieving for this incredible young woman remembering what they called her … they said she had just this most contagious laughter and when she walked into a room, she lit up that room,” he said. “And I’ve heard that from so many people, I spoke to some of her family.”

Mavi said neither Trump nor his campaign reached out to her or anyone else in her immediate family, noting she would have known if he had reached out to her family members, WOOD-TV reported.

“It was shocking. I kind of stopped watching it; I’d only seen up to that, after I heard a couple of misinformation he said, I just stopped watching it,” Mavi told WOOD-TV.

There is no doubt the religious right would sell their souls to the devil. Maybe they already have.

Trump reads the direction the wind is blowing and decides. I suspect that NPR got it wrong. The Rs did not want a 15 week nationwide ban; they want a full nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions.

[NPR] Trump declines to back nationwide abortion ban, says it should be left to the states

Former President Donald Trump declined to endorse a nationwide abortion ban and said abortion policy should be left up to the states.

"My view is now that we have abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation or perhaps both, and whatever they decide must be the law of the land. In this case, the law of the state," Trump said in a video posted on Truth, his social media platform.

The move comes as an increasing number of Republican-led states have worked to restrict abortion rights. Last week, the Florida Supreme Court allowed the state's six-week ban on abortion to go into effect May 1; that's before most women know they're pregnant.

Pressure mounted on Trump to make his own views on abortion public. He said last week an announcement would come this week. The announcement is unlikely to make the most ardent supporters of abortion restrictions happy. They had hoped Trump would support a 15-week ban on abortions nationwide.

In his video, Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, claimed credit for the U.S. Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade, its 1973 decision that said women had a constitutional right to have an abortion. Trump appointed three justices to the court, giving it a 6-3 conservative supermajority.

The issue of abortion has become a pivotal one ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
