I swear to you, the UAE tried. They welcomed them. Embraced them. Israeli businesses got funding here. There are literally love songs to them from big Arab artists. We partied with them. Opened synagogues. Israelis became impossible to not see because they absolutely loved it here. We knew it was seen as wrong but we just thought maybe if we build a friendship, we can make diplomacy easier and easier for the conflict. Maybe they would listen to us if we listened to what they have to say. Maybe we can lift each other up. The Arab world hated us for it, but we did our part. Even in the beginning after October 7, our statements were fully compassionate towards Israeli citizens. Today the UAE suspended diplomatic relations with Israel. Arab leaders are extremely nervous about doing nothing while everyone in their country is furious. They risk another Arab Spring if they don't take leadership seriously right now. They will not risk that. They like what they have.
Biden literally just sold Israel 18 billion dollars of weapons this week. Asking Israel not to bomb foreign aid workers isn't throwing them under the bus. Jesus you right wingers are so unhinged
Right - but the situation has only gotten a lot worse since then. In the long game, things can change quickly but let’s see how many people are dead by then. It also requires a desire to compromise and we aren’t there yet - the IRA largely stopped being successful because of the young Irish having full stomachs and cars and televisions…. When you have financial success, you will over look a lot of things. Israel foolish does the opposite - attempting to control and suppress the Palestinians, that leads to genocide, rebellion or an endless struggle.
Any nation that resuses to take precautions and then kills aid workers that could have been prevented, deserves to be held accountable. That is especially true when the number of aid workers is over 190, now.
I would bet you Nook but the honest truth is I know for a fact it's being negotiated for a few days now. Wait for press to verify it.
Israel has no interest in killing all the Palestinians or they would just do it, and certainly not subject themselves to losing ground troops by sending them into Gaza.
The Nazi Party explicitly stated that eliminating Jews was a goal. Hamas has explicitly stated that eliminating Jews is a goal. The white south clearly and explicitly brought over, breeded, bought, and sold blacks for use as slaves. Eliminating Palestinians has never been a goal of Israel's, or she would have done so. False equivalence all around.
Nope. The Isreeli government wants the same thing as Hamas. They want to be the soul government of a one state solution and yes that includes Jews: From their 2017 charter: Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity. 17. Hamas rejects the persecution of any human being or the undermining of his or her rights on nationalist, religious or sectarian grounds. Hamas is of the view that the Jewish problem, anti-Semitism and the persecution of the Jews are phenomena fundamentally linked to European history and not to the history of the Arabs and the Muslims or to their heritage. The Zionist movement, which was able with the help of Western powers to occupy Palestine, is the most dangerous form of settlement occupation which has already disappeared from much of the world and must disappear from Palestine. Neither government is the solution to the program. Both want the same thing for their side and one side has them means to ethnically cleanse and is actually doing it. The Likud party charter also includes "from the river to the sea" And unlike the Palestinian version it's not a liberation slogan as Israel was the one with power so there was nothing to "liberate".
Tell me why you think it is, then, that they would send ground forces into an extremely dangerous situation, losing many in the process? If they wanted to ethnically cleanse Palestinians, don't you think they would just bomb them instead of subjecting themselves to the loss of their own troops?
Iranian leadership knows well that the USA is capable of eliminating them if they become to big an issue. They did it in Iraq and they did it in Iran as well. Iran has carved out their own niche, they work more on support from Arabs in the Middle East and influence - and also they harbor and support terrorists that they unleash as a proxy army. Iran is FAR more of a threat to control Iraq or influence Iraqi’s than to engage in a war with Israel or the USA. I don’t doubt it will happen - I doubt it will hold up, but I would love to be wrong.
The leftist wing of Israeli politics doesn’t want to stop Palestinians into the ground - but Netanyahu certainly does. Also - no it isn’t as simple as Israel doing it if they wanted to. There are concerns over US aid and Israel is well aware of what happened in South Africa when they were black balled. Israel is as culpable, if not more than the Palestinians for the unrest and issues in the region.
No - because of what the international response would be, Hamas? No one thinks Hamas are good guys. They received help from the Netanyahu government and then took over Gaza and eliminated elections. We are talking about Palestinians, tens of thousands of who have been murdered by Israel, and have been starving to death. The Israeli government has used Hamas as an excuse to level Gaza and kill many thousands of innocent Palestinians… and even now, 5 months later they have no exit plan or agreement on what happens to the Palestinians or Gaza. It is very transparent. Israel has systematically treated Palestinians as third class citizens for 60 years.
