Ok, what if 2 weeks from now, Meyers and Abreu are both still struggling, do you see Brown promoting JL to replace Singleton and platoon in OF/1B?

Jake Meyers is far from struggling. But to answer your question, I don’t see Loperfido coming up before July unless there’s an injury to Abreu or an outfielder.

Loperfido with a very special night.

He went 0-6 with 6 strikeouts tonight. That is epic.

It is what young guys do. Every day is different and it's different every day.

Space Cowboys are in action right now and Quincy Hamilton hit his first homer of the season.

Blair Henley has 5 strikeouts through the first two innings.

Looking at savant data for Gusto’s disastrous start yesterday it seems like it may have been bad luck and poor control. He sat 93-94 on his FB which is fine; hopefully he rebounds quickly.

My local minor league stadium is sitting at 95 years. It is great going to parks like that.

The other full season minor league rosters were updated this week. There are 7 players in roster limbo as far as I can tell:

    C Nerio Rodriguez
    IF/OF Bryan Arias
    3B Zach Dezenzo
    OF Zach Cole
    P Nolan DeVos
    P Alimber Santa
    P Walker Brockhouse

I’m sure Dezenzo, Cole, DeVos, and Santa are hurt and just in EST. The other 3 guys are either hurt or unreported releases.

Reported int’l signees P Josue Lozano, OF Luis Rives, OF Anderson Paula, and IF Samuel Brito have also still not shown up on the transactions list.

Loperfido strikes out too much at the moment .I don't care how many home runs he hits, he needs to get his k% below 40 before he can even be considered for a call up.

Fangraphs did a really insightful interview with Spencer Arrighetti.

    Something I learned:

My sweeper is actually very not seam efficient. I’m trying to basically throw a two-seam the other way, if you will. Seam-shifted wake is a hot topic right now. It’s kind of hard to explain, but essentially, I don’t need spin efficiency or spin rate on the slider — but it helps it makes the ball appear white, which is useful.

I felt like his comp to Joe Ryan was pretty solid, a good realistic outcome for him.

Diaz, Valencia, Rives, and German Ramirez were all big bonus guys. I’m especially excited about Valencia.

Well at least we know that Luis Rives actually did sign with the Astros during this international signing period. I had not seen his signing posted on the Astros transaction board and wondered if something had happened

I wonder if he had changed something or it's just sample size. His K-rate has been more average in the past.
