Nonsense. The earliest Alpi should conceivably play is a potential playoff series. He is a cornerstone of the franchise, individual awards can wait.
He says that he will have a small treatment process which tells me that his ankle sprain is not that serious. This really doesn't sound like a complete ligament tear aka grade 3. If it's grade 2 and we can make the playoffs he will be there. Grade 2 is nothing you don't shut down a guy for grade 2 sprain but yeah don't play him in the reg. season.
MIP really doesn't matter, it's just a nice feather in the cap. No way in hell they risk causing long-term problems for it.
We don't need him he is slowing us down. We need to play as fast as possible. We can't play half court offense and eat the shot clock. Just take the ball and run. Do not spend more than 2 and a half seconds.
Give him the off-season to heal, even if we do make it in and out of the play in, it's not worth risking re-injury to extend a first round loss by a game.
