It was the first day of baseball. What could be better?

Is that Dylan McDermott or Dermot Mulroney?

Have they ever been in a movie with David Keith or Keith David?

Hopefully the group here is better because that's terrible. I wouldn't say the same for the people in the Debate and discussion

You got me! (Nah, wouldn't go THAT far. I hate Singleton, but not that much).

Did you mean losing streak? :p

I hope they pull their heads out of their ass. Particularly the pitching staff. Granted, we could have pushed another ****ing run or two across the plate after the 2nd, but still... I blame the pitching. It's going to be a LONG year for us and for Framber if he can't do better than yesterday on a regular basis. I would say oh, Framber just needs a little bit to get into a groove. But he didn't look that great in ST, either. So, count me in as worried so far about him.

I hope so too. I would love Yankee tears. Too many Astro tears yesterday from all of us.

An Astros win, a rangers loss, and a dodgers loss.

Of all games, baseball should not be judged on one game

Despite the loss, it was great to have Baseball back. I hope it was just a blip for Framber to look like he did in the second half of last year, but I am not sure we can count on him to be the ace. Lets shake this off and get the win tonight...............we gotta a long way to go.

    Positives I saw from yesterday.

Our offense looks as good as I thought it could be other than some timely hitting.

    Altuve got a hit
    Alvarez is Alvarez
Meyers got a homerun and showed some power
Diaz is a lot better than Maldy
    Pena looked good
Dubon looks like he is building from last season
Hader looks like the guy we paid for
    Bregman

    Neutral
Tucker wasn't great yesterdaybut he looks like Tucker
Bregman got a hit but did not get a walk
    Seth looks decent

    Negatives
Framber looks like he still has command issues which is the only thing that he ever has problems with
Pressly looked like he hasn't gotten out of spring training
Montero gave up a homerun, but didn't look like a human hitting practice machine.
Espada putting in Singletary. ( He has to do it sometime)

Only thing I really worry about is Framber and Montero. Framber because we depend on him to be our top of the order guy. Montero because he doesn't have a great track record over his career. Montero is easy to solve when people get healthy.

Not gonna take anything from one game but Meyers getting a dinger in the first game was a great sign. And Framber struggling was obviously not ideal.

I’m just glad baseball is back. I want nothing but wall to wall sports just playing all freaking day in the background while I pass out on CBD gummy worms

    After that start, ha
true, he was getting frustrated by the close calls. Wish he could handle that better. He looked like an ace in 2022. Just has been inconsistent

Just adding, Bregman didn't strikeout either and Tucker had a potential RBI-double retired on a 15% catch prob.

Framber MUST do better. He played with fire all game, then got burned.

At this point, I'll be happy with a low-4.00 ERA from Montero.

I don't like Singleton on the team. But if he's on the team - I agree with Coach's decision and would do it again. If he's 3/25 come end of April . . . Welcome to the Show Joey L . . . .

From FanNatuon: “Framber Valdez didn’t have his best stuff, allowing three earned runs and walking six in 4 2/3 innings pitched. If Valdez is going to have command issues similar to how he did on Thursday, Houston’s going to be in for a tougher season than they imagined.”

I think everyone imagined Framber could be exactly like this all season, that’s why we went after Snell.
