He’s on the same rest/see approach the Astros did with JV in 2020 and LMJ in both 2022 and 2018. All three of those situations involved eventual surgery, although LMJ was able to come back and pitch some in both of those years. Still can’t believe this roof is closed. This year's squad has potential to be better offensively. 2019 had 2-3 spots weak spots in the lineup, plus Correa missed half the season. I don't expect Bregman to be anywhere near 1.000 OPS but if Abreu can match 2019 Gurriel, there's a chance '24 can outdo '19 with the other upgrades. Diaz mashing is a must. Pitching-wise, two legit CY candidates is hard to beat. This year's squad isn't as top heavy, but the overall depth in the rotation could be better. The bullpen is an upgrade on paper. Checking the numbers, Devo had an ERA near 5.00 and he pitched plenty. Astros need to manage their starters well. I only trust Framber to be a horse. Once they're close to full strength, we need starters eating innings out of the bullpen. Five-inning starts (or 90 PC) should be the norm for most starters once we're healthy. Pray for overall health. Maybe the early season injuries will balance good health mid-late season. Go Stros. Go Coogs. Twin championships wouldn't be shabby and well-deserved for Houston fans.
