Sorry, but this is pretty dumb. You don’t trade a guy like Sengun because another young player may be worth the max in a few years. You wait until that young player has proven their worth, then you make the decision. If Whitmore is really that great, why not trade him once he proves it if replenishing assets is what you care about? That follows your logic about value, and it potentially would fetch assets that hit after the Nets’ picks. Besides, I’d rather build a team around a guard-center tandem.
Please point out a single post that I’ve made that’s anti-Sengun. I’ll wait. Also, your pathological refusal to let anything go points to more sensitivity than anything I have said. What was the point of coming back with this post after we had both seemingly let this go?
Literally the last team I can think of that traded a young asset to avoid paying him was OKC when they traded Harden.
Yeah, makes no sense at all to trade your cornerstone just to make room for role players (albeit elite role players at that).
Nowhere did I say that. I said you have said things to people trolling for Sengun but have said nothing about the posts trolling against Sengun.
And we don't even know if they're going to be elite roleplayers. We have no idea what they're going to be. I think the range of outcomes on both Amen and Cam is incredibly wide, either guy could end up being a max player or could end having zero trade value. It's so early on that conversation that it's pointless to even have.
Yeah that was a reading comprehension fail by me. My b. Still don’t get why you needed to come back at me when we had seemingly moved on tho. I find many of Sengun’s fans to be obnoxious. But I love Alpy. Either way, think what you will and have a nice rest of your day. Go Rox
Most of the people saying trade Sengun are just trolling because they want to watch Sengunatics go into hysterics. Nobody with a brain wants Sengun traded, but since so many Sengunatics are reactionary jerks and tripwires, people will poke them when they have the chance. To be clear, most SOFs are fine but the ones that aren't true Rockets fans and want the narrative here to always center on him are pollution.
1 Most possessions aren't fast breaks. 2 When there are fast breaks, because the C plays closest to the basket on offense, they are often last down the floor. This is true for most teams. There is no issue with Alpine here.
I’d say there’s a handful trying to troll. There’s more that genuinely don’t want Alp here and want to see him traded. Which is truly sad if they “call” themselves rockets fans
Yes it is! I will fight you about this and win! Jelly is overrated. Peanut butter is heavenly (and very addictive). All it needs are Ritz crackers, bread or celery.
Amen literally plays the center spot on offense. They will have more space with someone like Alp and the gravity he has.
Jalen can only get that space when he is hitting his threes. The ascension of Amen and Jalen’s new found ability to hit threes is the reason the rockets are playing so well. We had won 4-5 against tougher opponents before Sengun went down. Jalen is not playing better because Sengun is not there. He is playing better because he is hitting his threes and he and Amen make an incredible pair in transition. Amens elite defensive ability is also allowing the switch defense to be more effective and allows Grreen to be more aggressive on that side of the floor because Amen covers for a lot of perimeter mistakes by our guards.
and the lane is open for him to drive more and create in the half court. He's not feeding him the ball to post up. He's creating off the dribble in the half court more.
